I would like to create a new page and showcase images that are seasonal, or for the holidays, etc. For instance, now I would like to create a page called Featured Summer Images, and then add images relating to summer. I know how to create a page, but my mind is going blank on how to do the rest. I would like the same style of thumbnails to show that show under Latest Images and Featured Images.

Is there a way to do this using widgets? I installed a plugin called widgets on pages, but I don't know how to get images into a widget, then on the page.

edit: I suspect I won't be able to do this without a lot of knowledge of php. Maybe I'll try the NextGen plugin.

Or maybe this will work...can I add more rows under the Featured Summer Images I already have on my home page? The widget suggests only 6 images. Is there a file I can change so I can add, say 2 more rows (18 images)? Seems like someone already asked this. I will go look around and see if I can find an answer.

You could just create a Category 'Summer Images'
Don't put the category in your Categories Menu
And just create a link to that page from Where ever on your site you'd like the link.

It's what I did for a 'Featured Images' page with 24 items
Link on my home page.

That's a great solution!  Easy to set up and change as desired.

Very nice solution.  Just one question, how do you create a category without putting it into the Categories Menu.  I am using the standard categories page template and don't see a place to exclude certain categories.

Thank.

Actually not sure about that. I'm using my own menu so maybe somebody using the standard Categories page can chime in on that.

Since I'm not using the standard list - can you add to the list?
If you can , it will work - it will just show up in your categories drop down list which isn't the end of the word and solves your issue.

I am back to this.

I created a page called More Featured Summer Images.
I can create a category called More Featured Summer Images.
I can go through the images I want and add them to that category.
What I am missing is what do I put on the page in order for the images to show up there? Widget? Because all of the widgets I have are specific to SY images and there's no way to drag one to a page. Plus I am using, say, the Featured Images widget already for my home page.

I'm just not getting how to get the images to show up on the page. And I would like them to be the same style thumbnails that are on my home page. So using a NextGen gallery or some other style of gallery won't work.

Categories are pages you don't need to create a new page.
Go to your categories and click on the category copy the link and insert the link in the page you want to link from.

I tried other variations in shortcode but  could not get  themto work so the only thing I can think of if you want slideshow is to put all the Iimages you want to use in symbiostock featured category for summer and use that, then when next season comes around, edit them again
