You don't have permission to access /images/224-assorted-guns.jpg on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Sorry, edited it to add links instead.

Edited: See if this works this time.

All your images on that page are just placeholders, no images are showing. Same issue as before, but seems your images are hidden from the internet.

Okay, finally worked.  :-[   Images should be showing in the previous edited message.

I think I remember you mentioned that before. I'm going to give it a try and see if I can do that kind of design in Photoshop.

Thanks for the tip!

Martha, I think I sent you a template you can use to get a watermark to show up - just change the wording to your own pattern/choice but leave the "fx" bits intact

A little statistic of the last 7 days of traffic on my site. Might be peanuts compared to longer established sites but I think it's not too bad considering that I just started on my new domain on August 4th. Thank y'all for networking.

Hi Christine, yes you did send that to me. I think I was about to crack the code and never used your template. But I've still got it and maybe now I'll go back and give it another shot.

I definitely need something that will show up on dark subjects. Got lots many blackbird images that down work for my current one.

Thanks again!

I ended up using a transparent watermark. By using bevel/emboss and drop shadow effects I was able to get something that worked for both dark and light backgrounds. At least it works for me.

That's a very nice look! I'd love to create something like that for my images... and I will, one way or another.

Thank you.

Thanks, if you (or anybody) is interested in the settings I used to create in Photoshop here is the file. Just tweak it and change the text to meet your requirements.

This might happen if you change the permalink (URL) for an image.  If  Google crawls your site, and can't find the image, then it will probably de-index it.  So anytime you make changes to permalinks (URLs), then you should probably upload a new sitemap.

I think I changed maybe one or two I can't remember.  It was up to 3,072 yesterday then 3,064 later yesterday now it's around 2,800.  And looking at the crawl stats under sitemaps it might be the image-tags site maps.  I have three of them so I'm wondering if tags were duplicated within the sitemap and Google is removing them because they're identical?

Is it necessary to upload a new site map after uploading new images?

No, it's not.
When you want to have your new image page crawled quickly then use Google Fetch with the URL of your new page. But you don't have to. Sooner or later Google will follow your sitemap links.

My suspicions are confirmed about the image tags.  It went down by another 200 urls and everything is indexed all the way except for the images site map.  The 3 image tags maps have gone down so it's probably duplicate content.

Here is a link http://kerioak.com/TP/sy-watermark.psd

There are assorted layers - the black/white/coloured are so you can see the effect on different backgrounds
The SS is because I wanted to keep the Symbiostock logo but , like the coloured backgrounds can easily be hidden or deleted
The important bit is probably the special effects on the text which you can edit to suit yourself
