Does anyone know how many sales it takes for an image to appear on the popular search?

Are all sales ranked equally? 25-a-day, vs OD or EL?

its all about the amount of your sales compared to other, today searched for a subject and found my pic on the 10th place and only has 70 sales for 4 months

type of sale might be relevant too

I understand that popular images are sorted by number of sales, but how many sales does it take to actually appear at all within the popular search results?

its all about the sales I guess.. you can have 10 sales and appear on the first page of course it must be a subject/keyword that is not downloaded often..

have a stock friend that told me once that having a file on the 50 most popular (week file) you need to have like 5 to 10 sales a day during that week

All images are in popular search results. But it takes some time - maybe one week sometimes longer from approval for images to appear in popular and relevant search.
If you mean first page of popular search - for "Blue Penguin, Trafalgar Square" one sale is enough, for "abstract background" maybe 5 000.

Thanks Luis, I do understand that.

What I am actually wondering is how many sales it takes to appear within the popular search... first page or last page.

I may have answered my own question.

I just did a search for one of my images that has been online for several months and has not sold and IT DID appear within the popular search results.

Yep __ lots of them. You can't have a definite figure because it is always changing. Sales are ranked equally.

cannot be only the total of sales, have a picture placed at the first page number 10th and that picture has almost 450 sales (online for 10 months), I cannot believe that tons of other after dont have much, I am talking about Yuri etc..

I am doing a search with just one keyword

I believe that a huge number of buyers search using '' Sort By: new'' option. always something new (concept, quality etc. ) is more welcomed.

Some do, that is certain. I often have new files sell within a day of approval.

My biggest sellers are the ones that are at the top of the popular search, which I believe is the default search option.

it is some sort of sales per time algorithm, but not straight linear. - I think that as time goes on older images get a slight boost and very new images used to get a boost, but perhaps that was just based on a few sales in the first day catapulting it near the top of the list.

A winning personality and a habit of saying "the drinks are on me"

Lip plumping, tooth caps, silicone implants, perfect makeup, hair volumizing, blond bleech, that will be a start. Photos on SS are all popular. The difference is how popular where they show up.
