I was just looking at my payment history page ( http://submit.shutterstock.com/payment_history.mhtml ) and thought if everybody has the same percentage of earnings from US Source vs. Non US Source?

My stats (I calculated from only 2 last payments, but they were big ones, 2000+ dollars each):

US Source 25%
Non US Source 75%
Located in Europe

I would be interested to hear if yo have similar figures...?

Europe with a lot of very generic people shots.  I'm surprised that I don't sell more in the US as I often go for what I think is the American look.
ETA  - Oops I was looking at the wrong figures.  I am actually between 25 and 40% US depending on month.

22% US / 78% Other

I'm in the US but have NO released shots with people (scant Editorial) if that's of any value to identifying buyers?

Mine seems to average about 60/40 in favor of Non US sales.  Which is interesting since I'm in the US.

I just did a little research and found this:
http://www.go-gulf.com/blog/online-ad-spending
Global Online Ad Spending By Region

Region              2010   2011   2012
North America      40.8%   41.7%   41.8%
Western Europe   30.0%   28.8%   28.0%
Asia-Pacific       23.9%   24.1%   24.6%
Eastern Europe      2.7%   2.7%   2.7%
Latin America       2.1%   2.2%   2.3%
Middle East & Africa   0.4%   0.5%   0.7%

So it shouldn't be any surprise that most of our sales come from outside the US. According to this about 60% of Online Advertising is done outside the US.

But this is the US against the rest of the world? I would have been surprised if the numbers would show the US as the biggest buyer. Its one country against the rest.  No?

Worlds biggest economy by decent way, maybe bigger than western europe.

People are also interested because the tax is different whether the sales are from the US and from non-US

For me, the monthly total counts.  You can slice and dice MS any way you want, but in the end you don't control it.  I am done being frustrated with trying to figure it all out.  I refuse to shoot for any one agency because they do or don't like a kind of image, such as dark images (like SS hates).  Whether  US (for me) or Abroad I cannot satisfy them all.  And honestly this can explain why I do crummy on some sites and better on others while my competition does the opposite.

Off topic...
Interesting, my sales in Middle East and Africa are around 15-18% ( same stuff that is selling in US and Europe).
