Hi there,

I'm currently uploading and selling images both on Shutterstock and Bigstockphoto.

I've just realised that Bigstockphoto is owned by Shutterstock so I was wondering if I should only upload to Shutterstock instead to have one big pool of earnings and not 2 medium ones?

Do you guys know if Shutterstock mirrors automatically all photos/videos/vectors to Bigstockphoto or should I keep uploading to both?

Thanks in advance!

There's no mirroring. Its hard/impossible to know if Bigstock buyers would buy your content on SS if it wasn't on BS personally I doubt it in any significant numbers. For me and most contributors I think BS is miles behind SS. I would carry on with BS if it generates the income to make it worthwhile.

I am on both.  Shutterstock sells about 12 times to Bigstock. Some of my images that never sell on Shutterstock sell on Bigstock.

Lucky if I make $5-$10 a month on Bigstock with 2100 images and the uploader is still broken after 18 months

I just gave up this month I'm not uploading any more.

there was a 'bridge' once, long time ago, they no longer offer that option but a bunch of legacy contribs still have that automated sync between the two agencies.

however, my sales at bs are non existen, fallen down to 2 sales per month, it has fallen off a cliff like no other agency.

Was never on top of a cliff for me to be honest ;-). Always a very poor performer

Im on the bridge. they do it for me. BS , back in the day was a really cool Little site with Very good sales and the commission was 50 Cents a DL. then , My good friends The owners Tim and Dawn were the best of the best people out there. and the day after SS bought them Out. downhill from that day forward to nothingness. why they did that. I don't know. Tim and Dawn ran all the way to the bank,LOL. Good for them. It's a $100 a Month site Now. But since I do nothing. It's worth it.

I think if you were on the existing bridge system it cost nothing in terms of effort so BS was extra income for free.  Otherwise, no.
Before i stopped the extra effort of keywording, captioning and category selecting on BS and had it mirroring my shutterstock it was earning roughly 100x less a month than the same portfolio (not a typo 1:100 was about right).
Just logged in now for the first time in ages and its earning me between $0.6 and $1.6 a month
