I'm afraid that the preview images on Shutterstock are way too large and the watermarking is just too small and light. This might be okay for photographs but I sell mostly vectors and I can see how someone could easily take a screenshot of my work and edit out the watermarking or just run a live trace on the preview jpeg in Illustrator.

Anyone else think they need to be doing more to protect our work?

The preview sizes were upgraded a few years back to huge sizes. It's downright laughable how far SS is going just to satisfy customers. They have no interest in protecting our rights, battling image theft or copyright infringement.

Bugs in site code allowing downloads without payment, duplicated portfolios and image thieves selling images on some shady alternative website....SS doesn't give a rat's ass, their bottom line is all that matters.
