"Hi Al, how's it going with that photo subscription service you signed up for?"
"Hi Dave. Well, I've got to be honest and say I'm fed up with it. I was happily buying twenty or thirty pictures a month, just buying them one at a time; I'm only a small business just like tens of thousands of other designers out there in the world. Well, three years ago this new agency came along and offered a chance to download silly numbers of pictures for just $149 a month. More than I needed, but for the extra few dollars it seemed too good to be true. So I signed up, along with thousands of other small businesses.
Then last year they put the price up to $199. I must admit I was a bit shocked, but hey it still seemed like a reasonable deal, and after all I was able to doenload pictures just in case I needed them in the future. So I stuck with it.
But now they've gone and increased the price to $249. When is this going to stop? Will it be $299 next year and $349 the year after? I don't need this hassle; I'm just a small business and before they came along I was quite happy. Now I feel tied in to something where the price just keeps going up and up and I simply can't justify it any more. I'm going back to what I was doing before - I just want to buy pictures as and when I need them for client projects. I don't need to store pictures for the future, never knowing if I'll use them or not. Times are hard; there's a recession and I can't justify these higher prices, especially when its a monthly commitment whether I have client demand or not. Nope, I've had enough; I just want to go back to how it was before; I was happy then, now I feel I've got a rod on my back..............
