They lost you. did you delete all images and your account or you just stopped uploading and kept what was uploaded in the past? The submitting to GettyIstock without your permission: If I did not read regulalry on Slack, i would not know it early enough and might were to late to tell them NOT to submit my images to Getty. The time range to decide and tell them per EMAIL (requested!), was very short! Luckily I go the email early enough to them. For some reasons I got less than 85% accepted last time I uploaded. NOW I cannot upload any images. I have to buy 100 or so to get on board again. Not with me! Wirestock is dead for me! I am thinking about taking all my images back and upload again on my private accounts of each agency. But I am not sure, if it is worth it.

Since the email is out, slack is for me not able to reach anymore. I guess they select the most critical persons not to critic anymore or just closed slack for all, because now also the last prayers for Wirestock will search alternatives. I'm very disappointed, but not really surprised about their decision. I'm pretty sure it is the nail to go bankrott in less than a year from now.

What do prices mean at P5 ?
In this year i had one 4k video was sold with a premium license, for which the customer would normally have had to pay $50 + $299. I got $27,20.
For customers the P5 upgrade could be an advantage, but i'm afraid not for contributors.
Really? The $299 goes 100% to Pond5? Wow, that is bad!

Yes, Steve, Topaz has a free trial, but it is not worth it? First I downloaded Topaz, which is very very big! 1Giga? Then I tried it. BUT there is a watermark from them on it. so, only if you pay them, you get it without their watermark. I was really angry about it. As many other apps: FREE trail just means, TRY it but do not get any of the results to work with, because watermarked ordto small size. I will try to find a free version, which got hacked somewhere instead. Because the app is really good. but I cannot and do not want to invest. for that I do not earn enough.

Again: It is not a Twitter group! It is a group built outside of Twitter (most fineartamerica artists), but with the intention to promote and support each other on Twitter. If you want to get a "group member" the easiest way is telling us in the FAA forum here: https://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=7520685&targetid=7892656#7892656
And even if you are not on fineartamerica, you can do this on Twitter: 1. start retweeting all in the list I offer above. 2. follow all in the list 3. Use the hashtag #BuyIntoArt (If you want also #FallForArt) in your tweets 4. If you are very serious, you CAN put the hashtag #BuyIntoArt also in your bio.
Then automatically they all will follow you back and retweet your tweets.
How will the use of your methodology lead to attracting buyers, for example, to my portfolio on the shutterstock website? Retweets from each other's sellers, so what. Where are the buyers?
When you read carefully, what I wrote above, then I think, it is more difficult to find buyers that way for stockphotos, even I saw some people trying this and they have a link to their portfolio on SS and others in their bio. Of course you can include a direct link to the image you tweet and hope, buyers see it and click on it. (You should do!) But it makes more sense for photography you sell on POD sites. I did not have any luck yet, but all needs pacience. It is a marathon! I started in January this year to promote via that group and searching for others, who like retweeting my work. Yes, I got many more visitors on my galleries, but unfortunately no sales yet (with the one exception above). But in that group ARE some selling even in this difficult time! Exposer is all what counts! For example: A Twitter friend, who has 25.000 followers retweets your photography and he is following you, then your photography is seen by many many people! If the right person sees the right thing in the right moment, he might click on your link and buy. Even I did not sell yet, I believe it works! But to be honest: I invest so much time/effort last months that I really have to think again, if I did not sell anything until coming January. Until now I cannot tell you exactly why nobody bought my printed photography yet. Could be just the difficult time - Holidays are coming, so it will hopefully better. Could be that my photography are just not what people searching for. Getting 3800 new followers since January is not bad at all. But IF I would not retweet others, I would still have maybe 500 followers! To be honest: I hated and still hate social media for many reasons. But this is the only way for me now. And for each person it might be totally different experiences.

How do you join a twitter group? I was thinking of signing up with twitter to promote my POD art but am totally clueless about social media
If you are very new on Twitter: Do NOT directly follow all! Do NOT directly retweet all of them! Do it with 5 each day first and then slowly increase following and retweeting! Otherwise you might get suspended from twitter or get in Twitter jail. I opened a new account some month ago and got suspended on the same day only because I followed 50 members and retweet one per member! If you are on Twitter a longer time or/and have already many followers, then you can do more. I have now 3800 followers and if splitted well, I can retweet around 600 tweets now. But following or UNfollow have limits - nobody knows exactly where the limit is and it differ. I think following below 20 per day is okay, and UNfollow not more than 5 per day.

#BuyIntoArt is now the main hashtag of that artists group. Before it was #GiftThemArt, actual also in use #FallForArt and the very first #BuyArtNotCandy. The idea behind that came from Sharon, an artist on fineartamerica. There is a discussion thread, where the members discuss and exchange experiences about their social media use - most focused on Twitter, some on IG and Pinterest and even some on FB too. I am also a member from the beginning: kall3bu @Kh527q or https://twitter.com/Kh527q We have now around 80 members, nearly 50 each day active. List: https://twitter.com/i/lists/1495724421927288832If you want to promote your photography or artwork on your POD sites (not only FAA, Redbubble, etsy also ok), these member like following you and retweet your work, BUT ONLY IF YOU DO THE SAME FOR THEM!!! Until now only a few just post their profile link and did not do anything. So, if you do not start following all 80 and retweet each of them as often as possible (most of them one or more per day), then nothing will happen for you. I UNfollow that kind of lazy people very fast, when they absolutely retweet nothing, but want only get from others. I also regularly check the members, if they are still active or not. If not, I remove them until they might come back again. Stockphotos: SOMEtimes I included stockphotos, but then I rarely use that hashtag. (BTW: You should use the hashtag #BuyIntoArt and if you want actual plus #FallForArt, because many also just go through the posts with that hashtag to retweet. But they do it only for artists they know.) Best would be to go to the discussion on FAA forum and tell them, you want to give it a try. If you then start retweeting them, they will start retweeting you, too. Same goes for following. I tried it with tweets of my videos and stockphotos. On Pond5 indeed the visitors increased on that tweeted videos, but no sales yet. And even my POD-Site photography: No sales yet (Well one on Redbubble a poster 2 days after I tweeted it). Sales are indeed low at this time on POD sites. I just had to pay for another year for FAA, so i will keep on promoting another year heavyly. If these holidays brings no sales, I will stop everything. POD and stock.

Is there ANY fair agency left 🤔

I asked pond5 to change my whole portfolio from exclusive to non exclusive and they asked me to wait upload to other agencies (including Adobe) for 6 months. That are indeed the rules. But pond5 faster changes not selling on Adobe anymore and now Adobe asks us to upload to Adobe directly. Who is breaking the rules here? Am I allowed to upload to Adobe, but have to wait 6 months before I can upload to the other agencies? (Yes, I was/are signed for partnership)
You signed an agreement with Pond5 so yes you have to wait. I don't see how Adobe should be involved in this: of course they ask to upload directly, as any other agency. IF the exclusive agreement with pond5 includes this six months after closing the exclusivity, you have to wait
You are definitely right! But I feel like pond5/Adobe are breaking rules. A contract should be followed by both sides! If they are doing like this, the minimum I would expect: giving me the same option not following the rules after their changings!

Delete is a joke, because you cannot delete any image on dreamstime anymore! Only select for not available. Or is this the only way we really can delete old images and later upload again via wirestock?

Does it still make sense to be exclusive if the subscriptions already compete.
I think it is time to go not exclusive and spread the footages everywhere. And producing new footages and even if you still have many: keywording is still worth it? Hmm

« on: June 07, 2022, 11:55 »
Oh, "only" 15% of all footage are in that pool they can select from?

The Photos which were for free in 2022 and Adobe wants to keep them for free in 2023: Do contributors get another time 5 USD per image? Credit = USD?

I found many of my images there on sale. They used images I have on eyeEm and their partners, Wirestock and maybe more. First I thought eyeEm sells them as posters, but from the beginning strange: If I only refresh the page with an image from me, the contributor name changes each time. Sometimes also if I only select another kind of poster, for example Mural, but never my name as contributor. I searched again today and found many I uploaded via Wirestock and I did direct search for my name, but then only the ones I uploaded via Wirestock with accidently my name as keyword included appear. Images from my POD-Sites seem not appearing there.
Did they steal the images? Are the sizes they sell big enough? I even do not know for how much they sell it, because it is set to Brasil language (Portuguise) and money.

The only two reasons left are: 1. 30$ payout for sales combined from all agencies!!! (I have not that many images and not that many sales)
2. one time upload and get them directly submitted to all important agencies. (Which is not really that important, because: Before Wirestock I had my own system, how to upload my images to each agency in short time.)
Well, and I will not upload that many images anymore, will concentrate on other things. So my hope was, Wirestock would make it easier for me to handle.

I just started to upload there. Steven Heap just reported in his monthly report that he already got sales there - he is also still new there, but uploaded already many images.
Quality: Seems good! Custom service much better that FAA.
Biggest reason to upload there: Free shipping to USA and Canada!
And they have great Murals also to offer.
I am pretty sure it is worth to try.

On Slack app wirestock just clearify the review situation: This extreme high quality standards are MAINLY related to the easy submissions! So for me nothing changes: Keywording from Wirestock are still bad, so it is better do it myself. Slef keyworded images will pass the review easier. So it is up to me, if I am in the mood to do keywording for 10 Cents or not. But even Wirestock is going a wrong way right now - it is still not that worse I guessed last days.

i've gotten similar replies when i protested LC rejects from ignorant reviewers o,f images easily accepted by SS,AS et al.. they claim their standards are tougher (tho i've seen ZERO extra channel sales) but even if true, they're losing sales from SS and SS! they should review for tech and let the agencies decide for themselves
im recently had a batch rejected as 'Low image quality: Image resolution doesn't correspond to our quality standards and cannot be accepted."
since many in same series were accepted, this mass rejection seemed suspiciously like all being rejected without actually examining every one. and sure enough when i re-submitted 1, 2 or 3 at a time ALL were accepted. other agencies allow such re-submits without penalty, but w WS you risk getting a dbl
And what motivates you still uploading via wirestock?

In the past the still good enough ones were not submitted to that new rare high quality agencies, which names we do not know, but they still got submitted to the listed agencies. But now even that not anymore! ? Wirestock did not clarify this - even not reply to it. That is a sign that wirestock really changed a lot an seems not worth it anymore to upload images there.
There are now two optioins for us: If you moved all to wirestock and closed accounts on Adobe an others, we might open new accounts there again to get our images accepted. Or: Just give up with stock photos, bcause the last easy way via wirestock gets s...ks now too. To bad!
Did they really ever do that? Submitting it to "new rare high quality" agencies? I never had an Extra Channels sale.
They also seem to have stopped submitting to the regular agencies. My uploads from last weeks don't show up at those agencies, and for sure they don't have major quality issues. I can imagine Shutterstock rejecting some, but Dreamstime for instance accepts nearly everything you give them. So despite my images having the status submitted in the Wirestock dashboard, they are not online at the agencies. At none of them.
They completely lack transparancy, and they just do as they like in an amateuristic way.
Unfortunately I have to agree with you! Wirestock had better times in case of trustness and contributor support. Now even informations are not announced or like I wrote before: I forced them to answer my questions about it, but no further reply. In the past they ALWAYS answered, often took suggestions and tried to use them and so on, but now? Well, ... I am concentrating on POD sites more than half a year now and as result I did not upload to any stock agencies aynmore - including Wirestock. Then my motivationi came back for a short time: Instead of keywording myself - even I know about the bad keywording of Wirestock - I upload 180 images as easy submission. Result: 20 got accepted! WOW! 6 month ago it was the opposite! So, even upload and forget is no way anymore on Wirestock. And starting again uploading to each other agency myself? PUH! I got very lazy now in case of the returns like only 10 Cents....

On Shutterstock I don't upload on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Me too [/quote] Did I miss that experiences? So Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the days we should not upload to SS to avoid to many rejections? And how is the rejection rate on the other days? Why is it different? Are there really still people review our images on Monday to Thursday?
25
« on: May 04, 2022, 01:34 »
Wow, the new way giving selected images for free to attrack new customers? Like all the other agencies. Wirestocks flow is gone 100% and even me am not thinking they will go back to the most fair "agency ". To Bad! But now only accept highest quality for that few extra agencies and no usual good ones for all the "usual " agencies listed for submit... Wirestock is definitiv going the wrong way now. Time for a new one Like Wirestock in the beginning or Time to quit from stock photos at all.
--------------------
Just to bring it up again, in case not all contributers read it yet. The new Review rules on Wirestock, announced by a usual reply from Eric instead of informing official to all: #I am very sorry for the inconvenience. But please be aware that our selection process is different from Shutterstock and Adobe, dear Stijn, since we work with many other resources and agencies, and the agencies we work with are much stricter with our accounts since we're an "aggregator" we must ensure that the content we send is of highest value in quality, in composition and other industry standards.#
With other words: If your images are not or that high quality, they will be rejected.
