Just got a email today from clashot.com that I sold 1 photo from DepositPhotos through them. Never heard of this site and I'm surprised they send me a notification email. Anyhow, I looked at their website and they show my portfolio in 337px size without watermark! I'm absolutely not happy about this. Has anyone heard of this website before? (edit) Seems they are owned by DepositPhotos and only have their editorials. In the "How it works" section they say:
"Special terms for Depositphotos contributors: upload your editorial photographs to Clashot and get $0.10 for each approved photo. You do not need to register a new account at Clashot: please use your Depositphotos credentials to sign in at the website or in the mobile app."
So now I'm confused. What is the point in uploading there when all my editorial photos from DepositPhotos are already there. And I didn't even receive $0,10 per photo for it.

This is unbelievable. Did you quit exclusivity already? as I see no crown.

Just found these two: Fotolia - www.parangaimages.com my whole Fotolio port is here. Fotolia - www.awallfactory.com this one shows my images in 960px without watermark. Is this a partner?

Although it was my plan when I started microstock in 2009 I have no intention to become IS exclusive. But I clicked the "Become Exclusive" to see what they had to say nowadays and noticed my downloads had been set to 0 and I don't qualify.
I wonder if it's just another site bug or perhaps because they don't want new exclusives anymore.

I might have missed it somewhere but can anyone tell me what will happen to the images on PP-sites when I disable them on IS?

Better check that his port stays blocked after a few weeks. They might sneak him back online again after all the fuzz is over.

Yahoo/Flickr removed the pictures and replaced them with a copyright/IP infringement message . Kudos for them acting this quick.

Thanks jsnover/lisafx. I've send a DMCA notice to Yahoo because the guy doesn't respond to my request.

Someone posted some of my pictures on flickr. Suppose he bought them (which I think he did), may he publish them on flickr? I looked in the Flickr TAC but couldn't find anything about posting pictures from others. Off course if you buy pictures you can put them on your website, but what about putting them on flickr?

January is usually a slow month. February is better but has less days. Best month for many is March. July & August are slower again. Picks up in September till last week of December.

I have a question. Do exclusives get to vote too? If so that would mess up the poll results I would think.

I made the same mistake years ago. They told me to close my USD account after payout and open a new one in EUR. Which I did right after my first payout.
Did it pay off?
Yes, because I was a new contributor with still a small port. Wouldn't change a big port with some good sellers.

its not a mistake...
You're right. I wonder why they have all these different currency websites. You'd think they only need the USD one.

My sales are pretty well all over but I've noticed that certain images sell better in different parts of the world. The SS map is great and wish other sites had something similar.
its a nice feature but I don't shoot this or that thinking of where it will sell, I would prefer to see a list of countries, anyway it doesn't help us on selling more, its just a cool thing at 1st but now we don't even look there much
Agree. A list would be much better. I hardly pay attention to the map and I wonder how accurate it is anyway.

They use to have some good $9-20 sales. Now only sporadic subsales. I'm stuck at $30 so I guess it hasn't anything to do with you reaching payout.

Landmarks and tourist attractions sell. Put the rest on Alamy as RM. Got some good sales of travel shots at Alamy that wouldn't be accepted/sold in microstock. I would leave a tripod at home but always bring my DSLR and 2 lenses. Ultra-wide and all-round.

Why would you think this is a scam if the recipient has a @123rf.com adress? What would the scammer benefit from this?
and why would a big stock agency ask a contributor to send one file BY EMAIL!!
Because the regular upload to them failed. It's not possible for a scam to make an @123rf.com e-mail address.

New submissions get no view but strangely always one or two get 10-20 views the first days. As if they randomly boost a few of your new files.

My sales this month on a very general port have typically been one or two days when things are way up - then way way way down for the next few. Really odd variation. And nothing new moving.
The same happened with my port at SS. Real strange and It seems they're messing with search results on a daily basis.

Personally I've never heard about a case where a photographer has been succesfully sued concerning IP. So I wonder. Has there ever been a similar case before and what was the outcome?

Daily download tracking is going to drive you insane and clutter up your worksheet. Monthly is easier to deal with.
I have mine in Excel. I keep track of my payouts for taxes and what I make at each agency every month plus what I've made with them for the year. Today I started tracking what I've made with each agency all time since 2009.
Keep your paperwork simple. Doing it on a daily basis is going to take time away from creating your works.
It's 15 minutes of work a week. Been doing it since 2009. I'm with 9 agencies and dls and $ are the only data I fill in on 1 row and Excel calculates all the rest to different tabs. Ofcourse I'm the kind of person who likes to play around with Excel and keep track of things. Excel can't drive me insane, creating pictures and photoshopping all day will!
