Wasn't subscriptions supposed to change? I am still getting a lot of $0.38 or maybe they kept the annual prepaid plans the same and they changed only the dl's from new customers?

Did they clarify this anywhere? I still have a large part of "normal" sub downloads.

The only way to test what really SS did is by monitoring it as Lifetime downloads vs lifetime downloads before new system came into effect.

So for example my lifetime average in SS was 0,65 / dl, if it drops it means that the new system isn't all that good for contributors.

This is worse than both iStock and 123rf.

1. The reset to the lowest rate Jan 1 each year

2. It's unit sales not $$, so videos, subscriptions and the SOD high value licenses count the same. Imagine getting one of the high value SODs in January, and instead of $102 you get $51 (because you're at 15% versus 30%)

3. Video is really hosed as their units are the same as image units, but typically (at least in the past) videos sold fewer but at a high royalty

4. Not clear what happens to subscription payments - are they a percentage now or still a rate table. As their enterprise business is shrinking (last two earnings calls) but the "e-commerce" business - subscriptions - is growing, they'd gain quite a lot by cutting our royalties there.

For now, we can turn off our portfolios without removing content, although that may not survive this slash and burn maneuver. As I'm already at my 30% rate (what I've been earning so far), I'd have nothing to lose in the long term by turning off content - if I were to choose to try and protest this despicable cash grab by the new CEO

I'm not surprised, but I am angry. I'll wait a bit for the formal announcement before deciding what to do.

My total April Canva income was up a bit over March - but not doubling, or even up to a decent 2016-2018 level. I look forward to them covering the difference to make it double. The fact that they removed the DL numbers is a little telling. I certainly won't be uploading there until the difference is covered.

Well my earnings are there and they aren't twice as much. They are a few$ short of my total march earnings.

Why do they need so much time lately to calculate and pay our earnings?

I am looking for someone who can make illustrations for publications in scientific journals.  The subject area is plant pathology/genetics/molecular biology.  Would need illustrations of effects of microorganisms on leaves, interactions between plants and pathogens, molecular processes involving proteins affecting cell function, that sort of thing.  I can do photo manipulations, labeling and simple things in Illustrator myself but for anything else we need someone with much better skills.

In real life I work for the Government, and now that we are on maximum telework for the foreseeable future and can't do much in the lab we are focusing on writing up previous experiments and also writing review articles.  Reviews often get cited a lot and that can be helped with some nice illustrations.  Ordinarily we would do those ourselves, but most scientists are not great artists and I would rather pay someone who knows what they are doing to make a good illustration rather than having my people spend time making lame drawings that will not be as useful (like one I just reviewed yesterday).  We have ideas for several possible figures and can outline what we want and provide a (probably handwritten) example.  Several years ago we did an article where the society publishing the journal had an artist on staff who made us a really nice drawing for free (which I thought was nuts - would have happily paid them).  I've seen that illustration used in many presentations since so it definitely is worth the time to make good art.

I have not hired a graphic artist before so don't have a good idea about amounts but that can be negotiated.  It does need to be someone who is doing it as a business and can take payment by credit card (Paypal won't work - sorry).  We would buy the illustration and use it with our manuscripts.  Since I work for the Government everything is in the public domain so it could not be copyrighted if published, although we could provide an attribution (in addition to paying you).  Would prefer someone with experience in scientific illustration, preferably with plants or molecular biology, but others also could be suitable.  We are talking about probably a handful of illustrations during the next few months, but if we find someone we can work with it could be a long-term relationship with from zero to many illustrations per year depending on need.  If you would be interested or know someone you can recommend please PM me and we can go from there.  Thanks.

I just received my Canva earning for March, and there seems to be a problem.

The total earnings I received did not include Subscription Earnings.

Are you guys facing the same problem? Is there a glitch on the accounting?

If their "double earnings" are meant only for subs, we're doomed. No sales since 5th of april. Not something, I'm used too.
