General Stock Discussion / Re: SS vs Adobe performance
« on: July 17, 2023, 11:59 »
I forgot to mention that I have 2 times more photos on SS than on Adobe

27
Exactly. SS once didnt accept photos of wild animals, because of commercial property!

General Stock Discussion / SS vs Adobe performance
« on: July 14, 2023, 16:38 »
It's a first time for me that I made more money on Adobe than on SS during first 15 days of months. Adobe usually lead during a first few days of a month, but today is July 14, and Adobe still ahead.

29
The Microstock Agencies could start pruning the unused content: If you photo was not sold during last year, it will be deleted.

30
The photographer makes tons of money by taking and licensing photos of the otter in Santa Cruz that hassling surfers and stealing their boards. I wonder how much the photographer would make if they uploaded the same photos to microstock.

Thank you for sharing, but I'm still not getting how the exact date helps with this description

Editorial Caption: London, UK, England - APRIL 27, 2019: Traditional fish & chips van at Southbank.

April makes sense, but exact date?

« on: June 14, 2023, 13:31 »
it happened to me too. One instantly rejected and everything else ~20 approved a few days later ...

33
If I was the reviewer, I'd booted the image with the same reason. So why not just stick to the standard format?

What is the standard format? I see approved photos dated as 06/01/23. Is this standard?

34
But for an image taken in 2023 the circa statment is pure laziness.

I have a photo of Coca-Cola can. What difference the exact date will make, except Coca-Cola changed the design recently?

35
It's not that hard to provide it.

It's much faster to just add "Circa 2023" to your photos rather than look for specific date.

36
Per the website:

CITY, STATE/COUNTRY MONTH DAY YEAR:

Look at reply #4 :)

37
In what hypothesis you took a picture this year and you do not know the exact date?

it's easier to describe photos. Just copy paste "Valmeinier, France - Circa 2023" after description and done, instead of wasting time on exact date. Of course there are cases when you want to have exact date, but in most case "circa" is enough.

39
Thank you Mat. I finally got my license :)

40
Something started to work, but now I'm stuck on "This code has already been redeemed" when I try to redeem the code on https://redeem.adobe.com/

Obviously I didn't redeem it before :(

41
Thanks for the updates and emails. We are looking into this and I'll provide an update when I have some information to provide.

Hello Mat,

Do you have any updates? I cannot use Adobe Photoshop any more without a license.

42
If finally got the email from Adobe support

"We apologize for the inconvenience.

We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with the redemption of the bonus codes. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Please be patient until the problem is fixed."

It's funny that they marked my case as resolved

43
I see some progress. At least the web site responding.

"We Apologize for the Inconvenience.

We are currently experiencing technical difficulties. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Please check back soon."

44
Thank you Mat for checking on that issue.

45
Just tried to redeem the bonus code but it doesn't work.
The link in the blue bar links to adobepartneroffer.com which doesn't seem to exist. Is this an old code or is the redeem site down?

I'm getting the same error today 4/14/23 :(

Look at SS's short video in their press release - "No time? No budget? No designer? No problem!"

It's really interesting. I see a lot of people going out of the business.

Can you make money with a microstock photography?

Quote
Yes, it is possible to make money with microstock photography. Microstock photography involves selling your photos through websites that offer a marketplace for users to license and download photographs at relatively low prices. These websites typically allow you to set your own prices for your photos, and you can earn a percentage of each sale. However, the amount of money you can make with microstock photography can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the quality and demand for your photos, and the prices you set for your photos. It may take some time and effort to build up a portfolio and start making sales, but it is possible to earn a decent income from microstock photography if you are dedicated and willing to put in the work.

if shutterstock doesn't want them, I don't care. They'll do fine somewhere else - I'm pretty sure!

It's funny to see the images rejected by SS, but being sold next day on Adobe ...
