For me, as "newbie not living 100% of stock earnings", acceptance rate isn't all. I've 100% acceptance rate on Alamy ( guess why ) and one sale ( novell... ). Agencies where I have more than 70% acceptance rate is where I sell less ( or nothing ). It's true that You have a low rate of acceptance, but You should worry about which type of "subject" would sell better, before turning on acceptance rate. I shoot birds and macros too ( with my canon ... ), and normally they are accepted ( SS, IS, DT.. and so on ) but rarely I sell any photo over this subjects. So why continue shoot it, and send it? Landscapes.. look to my port, and probally You will say: "wft?! "Sell Your camera" etc. But the truth is some of that were accepted and made some sales... and my conclusion is that somehow the success ( for me ) is relataed to "locations" and some "strange" compositions. You believe that i have one landscape image, with 2 sensor spots ( just one agency notice and refuse ) , over a more than beaten subject? Even I don't know the answer for the file acceptance... About shooting people: Personally isn't because model release that i do not do this type of subject. The main reason is that there is too much ( and good ) competition over this area. What I can do with 450D against guys with studios and medium format... ? Ok, what I can do with my "experience" against pro-photographers? So, by now ( and probably forever ) I will leave it for them, and see what i shoot best, and do a small analysis over what sells or not. Probably i cant shoot and particular niche, and work over it until someone start do the same...

Istock gone to "coma" state.... 0 Sales. Was expecting a bump from PP... but 0 sales too... I don't see anywhere in the PP forum that October's PP sales are 'in' yet.
You right.. I forget that is around 30th of each month.

How do you rotate your faves? I thought that once you faved something, that was it, in perpetuity. I can't see an unfave button.
Go to "Faved", and You will have 2 tabs: "My Images" and "My Faved Images" . Select "My Faved Images" and below of each image You have a link : "Remove from Fave Images" This option ( faved photos ) works, but 123RF could give an option ( based on sales or who have a pretty gace ) and give a boost on 5%.

As Independent and beginner , with or without referrals, I want buyers to any agency. Perhaps one day I can afford to buy a war with a specific agency... not now.

For some people is a commission cut.8 months - 5 images sold + 1 image donate for free ( one week ). 6.25$ But i'm a believer ETA: Crestock CEO was a bit more specific about these changes: Who already reach an higher %, will keep it, even if with new comission ratings policy could lower it.

I'm (still ) on the begin, of all way to the micro stock business , but so far I learned that "accepted/rejected" photos aren't a mathematic science.

Even without Christmas images ( or business likely ) so far: - SS keeping the daily sales, except weekends. Probally will produce "seasonal images" exclusively for them. - 123RF all months with a bad start, but end a bit better every month. - IS, DT, FT, are death... hmmm but they were death last month... and almost low earners aren't alive yet. Exception made to PM ( german people know what they want : each view, one sale.... LOL Would have half of others "views" and would be buying some island ) BTW... Sometimes don't understand if is a "subject" problem or a "keyword" problem...

Again, rejection on 4th attempt. I absolutely cannot fathom SS at all. Images that were accepted last time have been turned away.
It's a lottery and a waste of time waiting yet another 30 days. One shot with people needs a "proper caption" I have no idea what that means other than describing the image and what they are doing which is what I did.
Gutted
I failed 1st SS test subm. ( 6 out 10 ) and I remember that was cleary to send 10 "new" images on next submission. I keep that 6 images, and after being accepted, they gone with first or second batch. About "proper caption", is when You submit as Editorial ( or they assume as editorial when U haven't model release ) See : http://www.shutterstock.com/buzz/creating-the-perfect-editorial-captionI do editorial captions with SS rules and they are almost accepted on major agnecies, exception made to IS, where i remove part of caption.

I support almost reasons given by reviewers. Just one almost kill me on a "sub agency": "Too amauter" Already on other agencies and one or two sales ( no subs ). So why worry about it?

... and PP api broken. For who opt-in.
thanks. If that what we do then?
First, post a link to Ur portfolio ( as ProArtwork said ). Most experienced users can give U a clue about it. I mentioned PP program, because each month I've more downloads and income from PP than from Istock. With API always broken i'm not sure if things are being reported correctly.

Canon, and will go to a semi-pro/pro body soon ( already having some limitations with 450D )
I'm not a fan. If Nikon or Pentax offer me a nice gear to work, then yes, i will be a fanboy LOL
