Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what the maximum sizes for web use are? I know at Shutterstock it's 800x600 but what about the others?

Anyone know any more about the sudden drop in Enhanced License Downloads this month (assuming it is still affecting more contributors than me!)?
I plotted out my earnings from Shutterstock over the past 18 months and separated out subscriptions, on demand, EDs and single sales. I have to go back to June 2011 to find a month with zero Enhanced license downloads.
Steve
Funny to see we have about the same amount of subsales and OD. Only difference is I almost always have 1 EL a month, you 3 to 4.

It looks to me now that Relevent shows most popular images. Still not sure what to think of the Popular order though.

It looks like they group similar keyword shots together. Also editorials with the same date are grouped.

I had the same and they told me it was because prices were incorrect and not as per the agreement they have with the client. It was a sale from June last year.

@OP: you can quit if you want to, and the good news is that if you deactivate your images they are 'down' immediately, or if you have a big port, you can contact CR and your account will be closed in a few hours or days. Unlike one of your favoured agencies, which ties you in for six months.
Photo+ locks your images for six months too.

AFAIK you can't. I've been waiting a long time for them to implement such a thing. As I do keep track of my photo sales. It s one of the reason (next to minimal upload resolution) I stopped uploading there.

Today I got a large photo sale for $ 1,20. I guess the differences between royalties is because of promotion etc but I always get between $ 2,10 en $ 3. But now I really wonder how it can be this low. Anyone?

Not only a boost for newer images, that's for sure. I had two (similar) images of Australia on the first row in popular sort order. One stayed there, the other moved pages away. Same with a shot from Amsterdam. It was on the first rows of Holland and Amsterdam search. I now stopped looking for it on page 15! Other popular shots seem to got a boost though.

Besides my latest pictures disappearance from search and port also my ports Popular sort order hasn't changed for days. Normally newer files fall behind pretty quick after being online a few days. Now a new file sold as sub once is on top of my Popular sort for almost a week!

Just noticed 10 of my latest pictures accepted a few days ago and had sales just disappeared today from my portfolio and the search. They're still online when you fill in the id number in the address bar.

Anyone knows Alamy's policy towards showing my RM pictures also on my own website (watermarked, max 800px)?

I emailed the travel agency and they gave me the name of the advertising agency. I'll contact Shutterstock and see what they'll say. Will keep you all informed here.
Thanks.

Hi all,
A few weeks ago a photo of mine appeared in a national newspaper. When checking the downloads for this picture i found out no EL was bought. I contacted the newspaper and they told me they got the picture from a large travel agency here in Holland who bought the picture from their advertising agency who has a Shutterstock account. So this agency is reselling Shutterstock content. What would be the best way to respond? Contact Shutterstock (I dont have the agency name) or reply to the newspaper and ask them to buy an extended license at Shutterstock?

A week ago one of the biggest newspaper in Holland used an image of mine twice. By coincidence I found these pictures as I normally never reed this paper. No Extended License had been bought for that image either. I send them an e-mail giving them the chance to buy the EL. No response so far. It seems even some big boys don't care about Licenses...

I wonder how this google search 'by image' and 'similar' and 'more sizes' work. As I get different results using these methods. For the same image these different searches bring up different websites with my pictures. 'Search by image' shows new websites but it doesn't find websites I found using 'similar/more sizes'.

This month I'm already on half the income I had in April. April was very bad, so I guess they've been switching around the Best Match again?

I also kept my money on paypal for when the dollar would get stronger again. Unfortunately it only got weaker and weaker the last 6 months and I don't see it changing soon. Not liking the idea of alot of money on paypal I transferred it to my euro bank account. Wish it was possible to put the money on a dollar bank-account but paypal only accepts American dollar bank-accounts

Same here,
Thought to give them a try with about 30 good selling pics of various subjects. After weeks of waiting 83% rejected. Totally random it seems to me and no rejection reason given. If there is no logic it's better to stay away so I will remove the approved onces and forget about them.

Slightly off-thread, but maybe not 'epic fail' territory. For editorial, they have decided that you need permission to photograph one or two minors, or inside interiors ()
I uploaded a few public airshow shots as editorial and they were all rejected with the following reason: This photograph appears to have been produced at a location or venue where photographic rights are protected, therefore not permitted for any royalty-free use, including editorial. A property release must be obtained and submitted along with the image. Thanks for your understanding.
This really gets me confused. Airshow shots I upload as royalty-free with the markings/registrations cloned out get in without any problem. I dont see the logic. Guess its back to cloning again...

Thanks for the reply's. I only receive microstock payments on my Paypal account but dont want to pay a fee over them. I just requested a payout at Dreamstime and Canstock and will see if a fee is being deducted.
