Edit your image and then upscale it. After upscale it is an illustration with details filled in by AI and any major color changes will result in break-up of gradients, shadows etc.

Adobe Stock / Re: genAI-induced feeling that everyone looks alike« on: August 10, 2023, 16:16 »I asked SS support (why did i bother?) if i could submit images made w their generator and they said definitely no So, what is going on, i still am not sure i understand! They are building a crowd-sourced AI image collection, but made by customers testing their generator and not by contributors like you that know what they are doing with AI. Sounds weird as most people will just prompt a random thing just to test the generator and will probably never create something useful. On the other hand they save a lot of money building the collection this way, because if they accepted your generations then they would have to pay you! 7

Thanks Jo Ann,
i was aware of their generator but hadn't realised that the generated images would be available for sale. I thought that a customer could generate an image and use it, not made available for everyone to buy. 8

I'm not sure i understand what is going on on Shutterstock with the AI generated images that are on sale. They generate their own images on Shutterstock's AI and sell them? Or are these generated by customers?

It is still possible to tell if it's AI or not as long as the image is at a size where you can zoom in (maybe 4 mepapixels and above). It is not possible to tell from thumbnail size images like these.

Off Topic / Payment from stock sites if i change my paypal primary currency« on: December 09, 2021, 03:48 »
Hi,
does anyone know if it will affect payment from any of the stock sites if i change my Paypal primary currency from dollars to euros? I need to change this because of a website i sell music records and cd's. On some of the stock sites i receive payment in dollars, on others i receive payment in euros and british pounds. I signed up to most of the stock sites more than 10 years ago and can't remember well but i think on some it was advised that the primary currency should be in dollars to receive payment. 14

Great news! When the pandemic started i was expecting agencies to react with some sort of bonus to contributors. Hopefully more will follow DT's example.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Photocase is cutting sales (money)« on: June 18, 2019, 15:53 »
There are no worker's rights in this business. Agencies don't pay, agencies cut earnings, agencies don't report sales and there's nothing we can do, take it or leave it. The sad part is that the same agencies present themselves as politically correct on all aspects except respecting the people that work for them.

Off Topic / Re: Global Warming is causing the Polar Vortex ???« on: January 27, 2019, 10:50 »
Well i'm just a stock photographer but yes, that's how i understand it. It gets colder where you live because it is warmer somewhere else. It's like the chaos theory with the butterfly etc. When in Saudi Arabia they have heatwave for months that means the earth temperature rises and so melts the ice on the poles causing colder winters in areas close to the ice like Canada in your example.

Off Topic / Re: Global Warming is causing the Polar Vortex ???« on: January 27, 2019, 10:01 »Logic fails when one person, which is why I started this, claims that global warming, causes colder Winter events. I tried to explain this with the ice and glass of water example. When the icebergs melt the ocean will become colder and cold oceans make for colder winters. When all the ice melts then the water will start getting hot. Of course the earth is not a glass of water with ice and is much more unpredictable. 21
Off Topic / Re: Global Warming is causing the Polar Vortex ???« on: January 26, 2019, 10:08 »
"I'm just pointing to an interesting contradiction, that warming causes cooling"
A very simplified way to look at this is that it's like what happens on a much smaller scale with a glass of water with ice on a hot summer day. First the water will become very cold as the ice melts and then will start getting warmer and warmer. 22
