1 frame per second, played back at 30fps, walking through the woods, mounted on a head band, through a railroad tunnel and back. I think a slower frame rate and no blending would make it a little more manageable to follow. The motion is jumpy. But just in case anyone else is thinking of a head mounted camera time lapse. You can see the problems it creates. One hour compressed into a little over one minute.

What you can't see is me sliding down the side of a steep hillside, to get to the tracks. (unless you stop and look at that point)

LOL, thanks for sharing cautionary tale, RacePhoto. And now I can say I really DID see the light at the end of the tunnel. 

I've been looking at that tunnel for 3-4 years, from across the trestle, figuring out how to see the other side. Two years ago I was going to walk across the river on the bridge. I tried to contact the people who owned West of the tunnel. Last year I found a gravel road next to the field and some woods. So this year, I just went cross country and down the steep hill and there I was.



Doesn't look that far, until you look at it from the side.

you guys have some cool tunnels

Not where I live, maybe one up North in Sparta (100 miles) and that's a bike trail now. The one above is in the Southern Ozark Mountain area. It was a big deal when they completed the bridge and tunnel in 1903 because of the distance it saved. Walls of the tunnel say 1931, I'll assume they did the concrete work then?

Along the Mississippi, the rail lines follow the river. Other areas in the Northern Mid-West, they follow the glacial edge. Arkansas in a 30 miles area has more interesting bridges and features than I do in 200 miles.

Great plains, are self explanatory. I think you need to get to the Rockies before you find more tunnels and grades again. The difficult part of the transcontinental railroad, wasn't the part from Omaha to Western Nevada.
