Anyone have info / experience about photrade?

It looks like sort of a mix of different things.  Selling prints, t shirts, regular licenses, 'free' advertising revenue licenses etc etc, plus they have photo storage and such... I haven't checked it out too much though

Well from a quick look over, I would stay away from this like the plague. It is a giant lawsuit waiting to happen, and looks like blatant copyright infringement run amuck, a la Zazzle and Cafe Press.

See this link

I am not sure, but I believe this is some celebrity pic, and the user has posted it. So no infringement controls at all - looks like no reviews based on what I have found there. Plus the image is listed at 528x567 pixels for a stock license. A browse of this "user" will reveal more likely infringements as well, such as this

I believe I have seen this one around. It is again low res with some bad photoshop text for good measure.

The domain is owned by someone called Double Picture LLC in Cincinnati OH USA and they have investment backing, but apparently the investors are clueless as to what is already going on here.

It also looks like the will use some ind of "ad based watermarking", a sure turn off for pro and semi pro image buyers.

How ironic that they say they offer "image protection" while at the same time they allow stolen images to be posted.

Here is a quote from the site

"we are committed to helping you protect and control your photos on the internet...."

looks like a place to watch for stolen pictures actually :)  That one picture looks like it was taken from the TV

This one is a picture taken by the famous photographer Platon, featuring Pamela Anderson. See Platon's website : http://www.platonphoto.com/portraits/movies/index.html (10th image in the portraits gallery).

I wouldn't want to be in business in any way with this site...

Other than the obvious issues with a site that does not review images, has anyone uploaded any of their work and made sales? I think their profit from advertising revenue 'share' system is quite clever. There are a couple of sites trying this type of thing where bloggers can use ad supported photos for free by pasting code and the photographer earns from the ad revenue
