Hi guys,
I am glad to invite you to try LightBurner Beta. This new free microstock content distribution and analytical service will submit your uploaded images to the following pre-integrated microstock photography agencies:

Also you can define unlimited Custom FTP Channels, delivering your images wherever you want to.

I plan to have at least 20-25 pre-integrated microstocks supported in December yet. Your suggestions for more destination are warmly welcome.

The famous keywords suggestions + translations, first introduced in ProStockMaster in 2006 (wow, 4 years ago - who can believe it), is now a part of LightBurner too.
Other interesting features include built-in search in your portfolio, Similar Media area, cataloging by Lightboxes, Folders and Categories, notes on images and sales balance for each channel. Of course, LightBurner reads IPTC for any uploaded JPEG, so you get your files with all the metadata - searchable and cataloged, at your fingertips.

The service is still far from being completed, however I believe that existing functions work quite well and have a great value to any microstock contributor. More agencies and more features will come in the next weeks. Without getting into the details, you can expect nice surprises in your LightBurner account.

How to get started

  • Register for a free account. You will get your user credentials, including the SFTP upload details in the "Welcome" email in a few moments.
  • Upload your files by SFTP (FileZilla will do)
  • Login and go to My Account -> My Portfolio -> Channels/Edit and select your sales channels / agencies
  • Select what files go where. Multiple options available, including "Assign" X files to Y channels, "Edit" of multiple files or simple drag-n-drop a file to a channel.

Actually, that's it. The distribution is automatic, so you do not have to do a thing.

Your files statuses are updated accordingly: red square (undistributed) is replaced by yellow (partially distributed) and then by green (fully distributed). You will have to hit Refresh from time to time to see these statuses changes.

A few notes:
  • All the original uploaded files are removed after 3 days
  • Shutterstock delivery is over FTP, stats / balance can not be displayed due to submitters accounts blocking with captcha
  • At the moment LightBurner supports JPEGs only, no other formats and no model releases
  • Later on ProStockMaster will work directly with your LightBurner account, thus saving you traffic, costs and time by uploading media just once.
  • The last but not the least: bugs happen. Please be patient, and report them! Contact: support(at)pixamba.com, david(at)pixamba.com or via online form http://lightburner.com/contact/

I'm trying it right now, there are still some minor bugs - which I am reporting through the contact form - but it's perfectly understandable being a beta version.

Great tool! I've been waiting for something like this for a long time. Thanks!

I uploaded 10 images, but even after 10 hours they have not appeared in my "portfolio".  Think I'm doing something wrong, but what?  I'm seeing two folders on the remote site ("downloads" and "upload").  Since the root did not accept files, I put them in "upload".  Wrong?

hello,
i uploaded 2 pics to your site  and sent one of them to Dt and one to FT. As a test run.

one photo was sent to DT
but
18 photos were sent to Photolia (the same pic)!!!

i deleted them all from FT but your site was still sending them to FT cause the icon for the photo was still yellow meaning it was still uploading.
So i just deleted it (both photos) from your site.

I hope this stops the uploading to FT. Or maybe u can check and see what is going on?

I REALY hope FT does not count this in my aceptance rate!?

I remember reading some site counted photos uploaded but then deleted before they went through to be the review proces against your aceptance percentage.

Anyone know if photolia does this???

Im one of those people who realy sweats his aceptance rate.

are you talking about FREE right?
yes, of course FREE is they key: rpi is very low lately and I am not going to pay for upload, they are advised in case they decide to charge later
because - even after the iSyndica departure - there are at least other two sites doing the same "upload once-distribute everywhere" thing pretty well, but they are too dear in my opinion; plus, there's another free one but it requires multiple uploads, which is useless for me

I don't care about statistics or keywording (I already use IPTC in my workflow); automatic distribution is what matters to me, to save time and bandwidth

in this case the price is right  ;D

I might even reconsider uploading to some minor stock agencies which weren't worth before

Same here - I tried the "upload"folder but files are not showing in portfolio; I am using http upload now - which is working - but of course I am waiting for an FTP fix

No problems with with FT for me, but the same thing happened with DP (same picture uploaded 27 times).
I am afraid FT does count this unfortunately.

Guys, it was a VERY strong start! Thanks for that!

100% disk full in a few hours :)
- this can explain some of the issues above.

Let me take care of that - allow an hour or so for the maintenance.

What am I doing wrong?? I clicked the link newbielink:http://lightburner.com/signup/ [nonactive] and received

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, newbielink:mailto:[email protected] [nonactive] and inform them of the time the error occurred,
and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

For the past 10 minutes no connection. All other websites work well,
so obviously no Internet problem. Is this campaign already over?

Oops, sorry, I was too anxious  :) ::)
Now I get:
The system is under planned maintenance
We probably add more disk space, add new features and upgrade the software now. We should be back soon.

Will test it when the maintenance is over. Sounds good though.

Nothing wrong, we just run out of the disk space due to a really strong start this night.

Let me take care of some more storage and the service will be back. Thanks Amazon it is fast and easy to add more space when you need it.

David, do you plan to implement distribution of footage ?
Beside Analytics will you add a promotion tool as well?

Thanks

The service is back now with additional 100 GB of storage space. Let's see for how long it will last.

This must be very annoying! Looks like the delivery works OK for your FT account, but the result is somehow not reported / missed, so the file is picked again on the next "delivery train".

Let me check it out right away.

Meanwhile I suggest to 'unassign' that file from Fotolia, so the system will not pick it up for the delivery again.

A similar issue is happening as well at FTP upload time: files which include "-" in the file name are renamed as "_" as soon as upload to your "upload" folder is completed, and my FTP client not finding the file thinks upload isn't finished and uploads it again and again

please don't rename files or wait a few seconds after upload or move them to another folder if you do

I also like the FREE part but honestly for how long??..

Well, they could find other ways to support this project, such as referrals (already there I suppose if one signs up through their system), or asking sites to pay for inclusion in their list, or asking us to upload to their own microstock agency as well - if they have one

I would find these options perfecty acceptable in exchange for a free service

I would love to have this always as a FREE service, don't even care why it is :P

BUT don't want to have 200 files instead of one :P (I am sure Pixamba will get there)

expecially to FT which takes into account the acceptance ratio!
but I am sure they will fix it soon if they pay for Amazon bandwidth
