I love ImStocker and use for every photo and clip I upload to stock!

Other than your first line on the 'updates' list though, I don't understand the rest? Maybe it will be obvious when I next use it (planned session later tonight), or can you expand a bit on the template, pre-selected keywords, dragging, etc?

And I am pretty sure I was always notified when exceeding 50 keywords. Or maybe it just showed the number before, and I always kept an eye on that? (guess I don't remember how it worked -- just that it did...

)

Sorry for very short update description

Search bar improvements
- Now ImStocker remembers last used type in the search.
- Search bar now is sticked to top of the page when you scroll down the page. It became easier to start a new search when you finish with previous one

Multiple keywords selecting & dragging using "Ctrl" key
Previously, when you need to rearrange the final keywords, it was possible to drag multiple successive keywords. Now you can select multiple separate keywords using Ctrl + click and drag them together

Quick template using
Earlier, to apply some template you was need to open it in popup. Now you can do this with just two clicks: open "templates..." dropdown and click "+"

Default template or pre selected keywords
If you always add specific keywords to your files, you can create a template with them and mark this template as "Default". After that, when you start a new search, keywords of this template will be already selected

Notification of exceeding 50 keywords
Notification became more visible. Now when you exceed 50 keywords, border of "Suggested keywords" and "You keywords" areas become red

October update of ImStocker and one announcement

1. Optimization
The service should start working a little faster.

2. Saving metadata to EPS
Now it is possible to save title, description and keywords into EPS files

3. Template search
If you have more than 10 templates, you can use search to filter them by name

4. Multiple microstock selection in advanced search
Now you can choose more precisely which microstocks should be used as a source.

December update of ImStocker

1. Two-step interface layout mode
In this mode, you select similar images in the first step, and then choose keywords. You can enable it using this button:

2. Highlighting for selected root/similar words
In the previous version, such words were highlighted only before you select them. Now they are highlighted always, even in "Your keywords" section. You can disable it in "Edit... -> Settings"

3. New commands in the "Edit..." menu for your keyword list changing
- Break complex keywords into separate words
- Remove duplicate root/similar words
- Remove words exceeding 50 words limit
- Remove misspelled keywords

4. Highlighting for misspelled words in “suggested keywords” section
Now misspelled keywords are marked also in "Suggested keywords" section. In addition, you can help to compile ImStocker's dictionary by sending errors using the right mouse button menu

+ A little abuse protection
ImStocker Keyword is free service, and to prevent the situation when someone send the thousands search requests and block ImStocker for other users, we added limits for anonymous users. Limit is about 30 requests per day, judging by the statistics, this is enough for most users. But if you need more, just register and sign in. It is free

I believe that the Shutterstock changes will have negative consequences for all industry. The less contributors earn, the less they can invest to such tools as IMS Keyworder or other.

I think, that the worst thing is not the level system itself, but HOW they did it. That's why I decided to show the mark till 01 July (at least)

Small update of our keywording service:

ImStocker Keyworder got a new keyword filter - words used on Getty. When it is active, only keywords, that are used at least once in a Getty submission, are shown. This should make the work with this microstock easier

The same filter appeared in our program for Windows and Mac - ImStocker Studio. Hurry up and try it yourself - till 28th of June free ImStocker Studio PRO trial is available for everyone.

Ah! the old keywording issue.
I think the issue really is
A/ that every online stock library amplifies different keywords, so that is an issue.

B/ every country in the workd liicensees use differnt keypwords to search for the same images ie, because of difference in language

C/ I thnk the first line in the title is more important than keywords

D/ Logarithm are the problem here because every online stock library has it's own and tweaks them to their benefit, so it does not matter what our keywords are unless you fit into the search profile they create even if you have the same keywords your images will probaly will be way down the list.

One of the sites I have images with shows the search words used to find the image that has been licensed and quite often these words have nothing to do with a description of the image.

I think the most important thing we can do is to shoot and upload, I am still licensing images I created and uploaded in 2006.

some agencies use ONLY keywords & ignore the desc (or even the title) in searches

as far as algorithms, your keywords certainly matter -- that's usually what those algorithms use, so poor tagging decreases your chance of being seen

guesses about manipulation and other evil actions from agencies are irrelevant - work on things you cancontrol & dont obcess over things you cant
