I am interested in anyone experience after quitting exclusivity and using the "opt in" option at Shutterstock again.

I remember a little bit how the "Popular" search placement was working st Shutterstock back in 2010 (a mixture of sale performance and newest images). If this is still the case (I am not aware of the latest change), does opting in again bring back a similar "Popular" search placement, or does the previously approved files are sunk from the inactivity?

Basically, how were the sales at Shutterstock after opting in again?

Your images after 4 years will be at the bottom of an almost bottomless pit.

Thanks for your reply. Are you writing from your experience after leaving exclusivity, from your knowledge or from your personal opinion?

My experience after leaving exclusivity was from too long ago (June 2011) to be really valid for today, but I'm still selling files I uploaded in 2005 and 2006. I should note that my best sellers have only 2 in the top 40 that are from prior to Aug 2008 (when I went exclusive)

Are you saying images you uploaded in 2005 and 2006 on SS?

Thanks Jo Ann, you are being a mine of information as always. Exactly what I needed to know. I wish all agencies made it so easy to come back with them.
