Ever since the big 'melt down' at iStock I have been having more rejections that accepted files.
Without exception the rejections have been for 'over filtered' files.

The strange thing is, I have not changed my editing technique at all, and all my previous files were accepted without a problem.
if anything, I think I have backed off a bit on my skin smoothing techniques, though they never were over the top as many shots that I see in 'People" magazine, etc are. I actually dislike that look a lot.

So, anyone have the same feeling that I do about the inspections? Tougher or no?

I've been receiving less rejections of late, but I was fairly terrible in the beginning. So I think this is mostly because I've improved a bit.

I don't see any people shots in your port, so you would not be doing the sort of PP that I have to do.

I have fortunately enjoyed a fairly high acceptance ratio on istock since I joined (knock on wood)

Although...... I have only been w/ them about two weeks, but out of the 25 images only 2 have been rejected this far.

I have a love/hate relationship with istock and at the moment, I don't love them

No increase in rejections. I did get two quick rejections from a series of the 12 zodiac signs for being "too similar". The other 10 were accepted. That annoys me and they didn't respond to two emails I sent them. I have now sent an email to scout but that can take weeks.

Every now and then I get a lot of rejections in one batch, much more than I would usually get. Perhaps there is a reviewer who has a habit of hitting the rejection button?

I just wish the sales were not as good with istock, so I could justify not uploading there. The upload procedure there seems to become more and more tedious. I haven't had a BME with is since March, despite uploading my max quota most weeks. All the other sites have had BME's.

I'm way behind. I sent in two batches this week, trying to get accepted. Was rejected both times, although the photos were accepted with SS, FT and DT. Am trying to expand horizons, and it's very very frustrating. I guess I'm just not good enough yet.

As for getting 2 out of a bunch of zodiac images rejected, the dirty little secret of IS is that you resubmit in a couple of weeks and they will probably be accepted. Different inspector, different results. I've even had IS inspectors tell me to do this rather than fight it through Scout.

that is what he is basically saying to do, however if you get caught there could be repercussions.

I wouldn't abuse it, but in the case of this Zodiac thing it might be worth it. I've accidentally uploaded and had duplicate approved images.

I have done that. If you are sure about the quality of the image, you should. Now, if it's a so so image, even if selling elsewhere, I would not.

If I remember it right, I once had a "no resubmit" changed to "can resubmit" through a Scout ticket, as the problem they saw - noise or something like that - could be corrected.

no. they are the same. sometimes (mostly) your rejected files are going to be rejected because there are some reasonable reasons , and sometimes (rarely) i really ask myself "is this person who rejected this image with this text really normal?".
also, sometimes reviewers give their personal comment on images with advice what to do (to re-upload).
so - they are not so bad

of course - my advice is always to try to find where is the problem with image (and as i already said - it is likely to have some problems), and try to avoid that in future.
