Should be 30 days per your contract.

If you haven't heard from them by day 31 (and your port is still there) take out another support ticket (make sure you do that first, even though it seems futile), then post on their help forum with the date of your first contact requesting deletion and saying you've opened another (saves admins telling you to take out a ticket). Point out that they are in breach of contract, and 'an unusual number of support tickets' and similar excuses doesn't release them from that.

Getting your files off TS (etc. ?) will probably take longer (per the ASA).

depends on their contract- For instance, I wanted Panther Media to removed my images and they told me I had to leave them available for six months! They were selling my images at $.12 some of my best sellers!

Yeah, they just removed the ability to delete files.  I was deleting my original stuff and leaving generic files up to keep my foot in the door in case the climate changed, but now I've sent in my request to close my account. Enough is enough.

I am also thinking about deleting my account.

Does anyone know what happens in this case with the payment? Let's say I ask for a deletion on the 1st of the month, they delete it on the 30th let's say, and then on the 1st of next month earnings are computed, and then on 25th they send the payment. Will I get payment in this case?

Basically what I'd like to know: is there a possibility I close my account and not leave them with one month's (or more) earnings? It is hard to calculate as we can not know exactly in which day they close the account (can be up to 30 days - meaning anything between 1 and 30 days).

Maybe someone who already closed his / her account can tell us how it went.

Thank you!

But how can you delete just some of your files? I am curious if it works without giving any reason. Thanks!

They say you have to contact support and give a reason.
You'd just have to try yourself and see what kind of reason they'd accept, bearing in mind that the ability to delete ourselves was available for weeks after they said it would be stopped, and quite possilby only then because it was announced here on msg a few times.

I wasn't aware of that? some years back it used to be small boxes you ticked if you wanted to delete are they gone now?  still I am putting the majority of these files with a small boutique agency and they dont want files that have been in a micro-agency so I really have no choice but to start deleting manually if thats what it takes.

Whats this with giving a reason that they have to accept?   if so I just tell them theyre incapable of producing good results.

They made it more difficult to deactivate images years ago and now they have made it more difficult again.  My solution was one message to support to close my account.

Anyone knows if it is possible to have them delete all images but keep my account active?
