Big problems over at iStock over the new search bar; full of bugs, errors and searches don't work because it defaults to 'search within' all the time.  Lots of unhappy people over there, and there will be more when sales disappear on Monday.

I'm expecting a 50% drop in sales this week unless they fix this thing pronto.

My sales were really good for a Sunday. Can't be too bad.

It defaults to Search Within after you've already completed a search. However, it's smart enough to revert to New Search if you navagate away from your search results.

The dropdown for New Search or Search Within is large and adjacent to the search box. I can't see many people missing it.

Did you find any bugs or experience any problems.  Seems to work fine for me, and I think it's a much better spot for the search bar, though I imagine contributors who don't buy images would appreciate the option to hide it. It's a lot more obvious now, which is good if you search often.

Only sold 2 over the weekend.  This is the first weekend that Lucky Oliver has matched istock for sales :)

My Friday sales were down roughly 40% and it's not looking good this morning either. A 40% drop in sales is mucho $$ for me so I hope they fix this pronto.

My sales took a hit on Friday as well, but only by about 25%.
Saturday was very low, too, but Sunday was better.

I think the summer sales doldrums are here.

Sales are down everywhere during this vacation time and as many have pointed out it's a usual occurence. I would rather them make these changes now rather than during the busy season.

its not the season at all...not for iStock because i had been doing fine last year too....its their stupid changes and until the designers understand how to use the search again, sales will suck :(

Are you saying that (most) graphic designers are halfwits/noobs when it comes to searching for images, and that they'll just give up and not bother looking/buying if something in the search procedure is changed?

no i'm saying most designers need to get acquainted with the system...it happened last time and there was a thread on another forum...and sales were back eventually...sucks that they have to keep tinkering with a search that seemed to be okay in the first place

Sales down about 40% for a Monday.  I was expecting 50%.

have you also noticed they have taken away the download stats when you do a search, you can only see how many downloads an image has when you open it.

You can change that in advanced search and when they get it working properly you will be able to save your default so that it always shows whatever information you choose.

The good news is that my sales don't seem to have been affected by the latest change.  The bad news is they are down overall now that exclusives are once again getting preferential placement, and I had my first zero DL day in nine months on Sunday.   >:(

Yikes, a zero DL day with a portfolio your size - not a good sign. I guess it's only a matter of time before we all begin to see those. (knock on wood)

What makes you think that exclusives are getting preferential placement?
I'm not exclusive and my placement in the searches is much better than it was before the re-shuffle and my downloads have gone right up.  I have lots of my best sellers that were lost for the last couple of months back up and selling and turning up on the first and second pages of searches.

Yes I agree with fotografer, the last two days were really good and my bestseller started again to sell after several of weeks of very slow sales. In fact, today seems to be one of my best days I had on IS without counting ELs.

Yes, funnily enough this week has not turned out to be the disaster I feared it would be.
