A porn site is using stock images for attracting people using those keywords I guess. Check if any of your pics are there, I found some of mine. NOTE: The links on right are all to porn.

Many Dreamstime images there.
Did you already informed Dreamstime about it?

Yes, I messaged DT about through their contact page. I think they do have an actual infringement page, but I couldn't find it.

This seems to be a ploy of these sites.
I posted this in August. iS have apparently had my image removed (thanks), but all the Shutterstock-watermarked images are still there.

I'm not on SS, and have no idea if any SS members here contacted SS about it.

I rarely post here on this site but this one got my attention! I contacted DT this morning and will let you gals/guys know what they say to me. Unacceptable to say the least!

I'd agree that you rarely post, especially since you just created the account the same day as your post?  ;)

Yes to all of you. Someone with these porn sites is just looking for "young girl" then linking to the thumbs to attract attention. Not right and also makes your daughter or family member look terrible if someone finds it on a porn site.

They leave the watermarks on but that doesn't make anyone feel better about being used!

Someone needs to see if they are also stealing bandwidth and just linking to the Dreamstime site for these.

I was researching a syndrome that affects mostly "Young Asian Boys" you don't want to see what came up most of the time. Talk about perverts.

I got a reply from DT saying that they have sent legal notification to the site. It may be worthwhile to check what other sites they linking to and report it, to add pressure from multiple sources.

Good move, these places need to get notice that they can't steal or misuse watermarked images, and get away free.

I am also working with DT as well- filed complaint and my attorney is in touch with them.

This made me feel ill!
I have actually deactivated some images of my daughter with similar keywords: young girl, student, etc.
I don't want to risk some child porn site using her images to lure sicko's in.
What kind of a God * world?!
Sick  :'(

I agree with a lot of sick people out there! For my models the key word 'Student' is vital - just need to track down these sick sites! Hope to hear from my attorney this week on what happen.

I just did a Google reverse image search on one of my wildlife images and was surprised to find a page, just like the above, on another porn site, just like the above - a page of thums of this species with and without watermarks from e.g. stock sites, FAA and Flickr (FAA pics prominent, presumably because of the exdellent SEO); clicking on the thums takes you to a sign up page for the porn sites, but in this case a lot of pretty explicit thums were down the right hand column.
I'm betting this model must be huge, for whatever reason (didn't seem to be promoting bestiality, but I didn't exactly investigate fully).

That's pretty disturbing. Using photos of children to an adult website. I wonder if the free images from Getty will encounter the same problem. Somebody creates an adult blog page in the hopes of getting ad revenue and uses our images. I would suggest contacting the FCC since all adult websites have to be regulated (all models have to be 18 years old/consent age) They might be able to help and shut it down since it crosses the line.

I'd hope surely if the embedded Getty images were used in that way that Getty would surely chase them up; if nothing else, because they're not being used editorially/not for profit. If Getty wouldn't chase them up for that sort of misuse, we may as well give up.

I had to look up FCC.
If Wikipedia is to be believed, "The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent agency of the United States government, created by Congressional statute ... to regulate interstate communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories. ... The FCC's mandated jurisdiction covers the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. possessions. The FCC also provides varied degrees of cooperation, oversight, and leadership for similar communications bodies in other countries of North America."
Does that mean they have control over sites originating in the US only, sites from anywhere being hosted by a US company, or do they have control over sites originating/hosted outwith the US but accessible in the US?

Might have meant FTC = Federal Trade Commission. http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus28-advertising-and-marketing-internet-rules-road and that's only for the USA

Interpol for many other places. But here's a catch: There is no one set of laws that apply to the distribution, purchase, or possession of Internet pornography.

FCC is radio, TV, communications, but... The FCC does not regulate the Internet or Internet Service Providers.

What I'd say (as I'm NOT an attorney) is that this comes down to misuse of images and not pornography, because the site isn't selling these, but just improperly linking them from DT for promotions.

Sad situation and here we are again, making honest photos and someone finds a way to abuse that or misuse them. What next? Oh some DMCA and nothing happens, they go get someone else's photos of their kids and use those, until discovered.

We are unprotected and ignored as far as illegal or improper use of our photos and some prosecution to stop that from happening.
