Any suggestions which sites to check?

ebay for CDs for sale

other stock sites especially if you don't contribute.

Any other suggestions??

They are lot of Shutterstock stolen stuff here , difficult to find for BigStock though

Worth checking out Tineye (and downloading the the Firefox plugin if you use Firefox). Obviously it finds legitimate uses of your images too, which can be interesting.

I second that about TinEye. It's already found some of my images being used illegally.

How does everyone search for their images on tineye?

Do you post the url from other stock sites? do you downsize ur images then upload them to tineye? i only ask this because i cant seem to find any of my images and i was wondering if the watermark has any bearing on whether the search pics it up or not

There are now 4 ways of doing it.

- Upload an image from your computer
- Paste a page or image URL
- Use the TinEye Images bookmarklet to choose from several images on a web page
- Install the TinEye browser plugin for Firefox or IE

I use the last one, with Firefox.

It finds both images and derivatives of images (e.g. where an image is part of a larger one). I've never had any problems with watermarks. It seems to be able to handle them.

Yep same here. Firefox plugin works fine for me, watermarks or not.

Keep an eye out on all the major microstock sites for your own images uploaded under a different username. So far, I've found that someone has stolen (and re-uploaded) a large collection of my portfolio at Fotolia and BigStockPhoto. I have a large portfolio at both agencies, so the thieves obviously aren't very bright.

Just today, someone bought up $250 worth of my portfolio at BigStockPhoto with a stolen credit card. They got away with a LOT of images.

I gave TinEye a try

I tried a 1200 x 1600 version of file it failed to find any of the thumbails at about six sites that it has been submitted to and just showed one image featured the same flag by a different creator.

Not very impressed.

Seems to work for some people, doesn't for me. I have some photos up that I sold direct and I know the sites, they don't come up with a Tineye search. Maybe there is something to the size thing? Could be that the sites that have my photos are too obscure for Tineye to search and are not art or photo related. Not a complaint, just that some types of photos may not produce hits.

I suspect that my standard stock photos aren't good enough to steal.
