Yep.
Canstock Photo.
Now I joined in Sept of 2009 and I just now hit payout of $50! To be fair, I only have 74 photos and only 2 do well, the rest; eh. At first in 2009 I thought this would be a nice second income stream, but quickly I discovered it was pushing a boulder up a mountain.

Its just kinda cool to hit the $50 milestone FINALLY. I'm dabbling with adding my photos but mainly illustrations to the agencies. But I must watch my pennies in cost outlay as it will take years to get the return, if ever.

Just wanted to share, not a complaint.  :)
Steve

PS- (I have hit a couple $100 payouts on DT and SS)

Congrats! :)

Also helps that the US$ is bullish.

I agree! $0.59 per month? So lets say the going rate for a photographer is $25 to $75 an hour. And lets say it took you one day to take the shots, process them and upload them. Maybe longer. That means you'll have been paid the 'going rate' for that day in about 50 years time.

I'm not knocking you, some images sell better than others and some sites sell better than others, that's just the way it is... just wanted to put it into context!

Have you tried Shutterstock, you should make a lot more purely becauase there's more sales/traffic overall. I wouldn't be surprised if you're hitting the payout every six months there. I think it;s only $"5 or $35 there anyway.

congrats!!! it's typical for any agency other than istock or ss.
as suggested, with ss you should get a payout monthly now with their 35 bucks payout .
and getting in is even easier than dripping molasses in winter...

go for it, you will see a honeymoon period of sales at the first 3 months...
then a slowdown. but at least you will bring home 105 bucks in 3 months with ss as a newbie.

i find canstock is more picky than ss; at least when i was with them.
so you should get better results with ss.

A small port and lots of competition, plus a mid-tier agency. What did you expect?

Keep growing your portfolio and you'll see some decent returns. Overall, it's no get-rich-quick thing, but 7 years to reach a $50 payout is unusual, even on CanStock.
