Hi there contributors!

I am non-exclusive contributor.
I have a question about selling my images, that are already accepted on major microstock agencies.
It is legal to sell this images on my own site, what about prices and rights? If I am exclusive contributor, I can not sell images elsewhere, this is a logical. What if I am non-exclusive?

Thank you for answer, anyone!

Yes, you understand 'non-exclusive' correctly.

Not only can you sell images yourself (it's finding the buyers that's the hard part!) but you can choose how you license and price them.

Some people have chosen to do a single use license with no size-based pricing. Some follow the model of the major microstock sites with size based prices and extended licenses for multiple seats, items for resale and so on.

The other consideration regarding prices is that you could keep prices reasonable and still collect a lot more from a sale because there's no agency taking a cut (just hosting/web site overhead and PayPal fees). Bear in mind that it's trivial to find out where images are available for sale, so you're not likely to sell many from your own site if the prices are significantly higher than at agency sites - unless you're bundling more rights or adding value in some other way

I thought selling on your own site was not worth the time nor the effort? From reading random past posts here.

everytime someone comes in here to say he/she plans to do his/her own selling,
i wish they succeed.
it's alot of work, but it can be done.

i know of several ppl who left microstock to sell on their own, and lately,
pauliewalnut came in to say he is doing well on his own.

so go for it. and let us know how you do. we can all do with a little good news
of someone who is not just sitting on their hands waiting for ss to suddenly become
the old ss it was .

and yes, a jo ann said, you can sell it for less than the agency as you are not having to
take a big chunk as the middle man. that is one good thing about going on your own.

the trick is how you are going to get yourself out to the clients that you exist.
when you succeed, come in here to let us celebrate your success.
