    Hi All,
I thought some of you might get a kick out of a Macro RR shot list. The detail is more specific that a Micro and so are the numbers we are trying to get. No 200 images here more attention to detail and location. I am sure there are a couple that might critisize but from the PM feedback I am getting I am realizing this is a miniscul percentage so I won't let it stop me.

I have added a link so you can see the final images from the shoot. I hope there is something in here that can help you even if only a small way.

http://www.andersenross.com/dwellhome/  The nudes have been removed from the gallery out of respect for the model. Sorry.

Avava thanks, nice images, very inspiring. It's so refreshing to have a macro shooter sharing his inside information. Question, how much do you spend on a shoot like this, the whole kit and kaboodle, models, props, space rental / lease,  including staff fees? Trying to get a ball park figure as to what I should be looking to spend for a good lifestyle shoot.

Thanks.

Hi SS,

It is a lot easier to share overhead from studio to everything involved by breaking it down or I will be typing all night.
We try to never spend over $100 dollars per image for a production ( that includes all our everyday expenses as well as the cost of the specific shoot ). Some models like RM, RR or RF will see less excepts from the day but this shoot is an RM shoot so we will stick to that.
We spent less than $100 dollars per image on this shoot ( sometimes it is much higher ) and hope to recoup about $500 to $ 750 dollars per image over a 3 - 7 year return period ( these numbers are a bit vague with the changes taking place in the market but we stay to the conservative side of the scale ) With the nudes that aren't in the gallery we ended up with thirty selects. $3000 invested for a return of hopefully  $12,000 - $19,500 over a 3 - 7 year period.

Hope this helps,
AVAVA

As a side note; the grapevine has been sending out rumors that the RR license will cease to exist next year. Not sure if this is for all brands or specific ones. You know the grapevine; a little bit noisy at times.

 Hi Zeus,

You have a healthy batch of grapes there. I have heard the same for months now. Why or where it will go is a mystery just like so much of our future in this industry. Getty only has two owned RR sites Iconica and The Image bank all the rest of their RR is third party. I would love to see them move there RR owned companies into the RM brand and push the rest of their third parties to Macro RF. If you do a side by side comparison it seems they have kept their own brands much more like their RM as where the third party looks a lot like Macro RF. Hard to say, maybe they will pull the collections apart related to past sales and place some in RM and some in RF, just crossing my fingers at this point. I can say that there will be an onslaught of Macro shooters moving into Micro if this happens. Don't think they will just go away they don't many more places to go.

Best,
AVAVA

AVAVA.

Do you have a specific criteria for determining what will become RM, RR, or RF? I read so many posts about this, no one (including me) seems to have a feel for deciding what gets licensed as what. Also, different question, if you were relatively new to the game, as I am, and were not already represented with an agency and your options for placement of produced imagery (like your example) was either micro stock or paying $50 per image for placement at Getty, would you pay to place images with Getty or forget that and just put stuff on the micros?

Again, thank you so much for your time and candor.

Happy to share everyone and thanks for all the kind words,

Like I once said it gives me a " BUZZ " or makes me " feel good " to be able to share. I think most people feel that way.

Best,
AVAVA
