Hi!

What 360 cameras would you suggest for stock footage?

I been looking into Samsung Gear 360 2016 & 2017.
I'm seriously considering 2016 actually. Any reason not to get this one?

All I can say is that you will be very, very, very disappointed in the quality unless you're ready to spend serious $$$.

I believe the Insta360 Pro ($3,499) is the only solution that is somewhat affordable and can give quality comparable to a standard (HD) camera. Definitely lower quality, but comparable to a cellphone or action camera.

The cheaper 360 cameras look truly TERRIBLE. Clips from those cameras MIGHT get accepted right now, because 360 is still a new thing, but not for very long.

I bought the Vuze Camera that outputs to 4K and am very disappointed to find that VideoBlocks has rejected all the clips I have taken with the camera due to 'poor stitching' although the stitching is done automatically and actually looks pretty good. Yes you will need to lay down some $ to get something decent and be very careful with the stitching, oh and tripod caps.. alot of sites do not like tripod caps either.

What is "pretty good" (stitching)? Visible seams really take away from the 360 experience. You wouldn't hang a stitched panorama with visible seams on your wall...

Yes agreed re stitching. However the stiching is good (no overlap, gaps or lines) except at the top and bottom 5% of the sphere where it joins at the polls.
