Hi, I'm thinking about doing a completely different style of photography to what I normally do but don't want to have these images in my normal portfolio. Does anybody know which agencies of the following allow multiple accounts for one photographer?
IS,DT, FOT, SS, BS, 123RF, StockXpert

Hmm... I don't know if I can give you the right info, but I guess you can do it with all agencies that don't require a copy of your ID. I uploaded my ID to FT and 123RF, but I don't remember about other agencies.

Also, maybe I'm not right.... maybe you should contact support in every agency.

I inquired once about this once and I believe all agencies allow it (although you should / have to email them first) EXCEPT iStock.

I also asked Dreamstime and they don't allow it.

Leafs correct - iStock do NOT allow you to have two accounts. I enquired about this a couple of months ago as I would have liked to have separate business and private accounts, but they said it's not allowed.

I do that in FP, to separate my micro and macro portfolios.

Most of them ask for your ID now. SS, FT,IS, 123Rf, dont know about SX. But emailing them is only way to go, I think.

I am not even sure if it is a beneficial idea to split your work. If all your images are good ones and buyers like them, having all of them under one username is better.
Some photographers do use different user names , but with different sites rather than enrol twice in the same place.
I am not sure how this will fare with some sites with affliates. Are you going to be adding your second username as an affliate to the first. You then will be earning affliation commission from username 1 of every sales by username2, right?

In accounting, that would mean you're earning more than using a single username.

I seriously doubt that they would let anybody be their own refferal as that would seem a bit like cheating the system.
At the moment I have a portfolio that is almost 100% people shots and I want to get into doing textures but want to keep my current portfolio the way it is and have the textures in another portfolio. I'm pretty sure that SS allow it.

Simple solution!

Have one account in your name and another in your spouses name. No one will know who actually took the photos.

So with each upload when you confirm that you are the sole copyright holder, you would be lying/cheating. I don't think that's good advice in any business relationship.

i am not with SS, but i recall seeing something in Alamy i think, that allows you to add pseudonyms
and assign these pseudonyms to selective images. that would be more or less similar to have 2 accounts, but still all paid and log on under one.

let me check which site i saw that.

I don't think they verify if the ID belongs to another member. You can always use a second email for registering.

Earnings won't be unified however, even if the site accepts two accounts.

I don't see anything illegal (except in IS because of ratings), but in any case it is always good to ask the site.

From SS terms of service:

If you attempt to establish another account without obtaining such authorization, Shutterstock may permanently ban you from this website and its affiliated websites and services. You may not have more than one active submitter account at any time without the written consent of Shutterstock in each instance. If such consent is granted, you may not submit identical images to more than one account."

Couldn't you just give the copyrights to your wife on those images? Isn't that how the corporate accounts work?

iStock doesn't allow it. Don't try it, it will get your original account closed as well.

Yeah that is Alamy.

You can create different pseudonyms. I have a couple for different styles of images. The different pseudonyms also have different rankings on Alamy, so you can create one with all your best work and get a great ranking and have another pseudonym with mediocre stuff that someone might want some day and sacrifice the ranking.

i have solve the problem with second account... my seconde account is only food.. and it is not my account .. i give all images to my sister... she has all rights of them...

Well, I do not really understand why you are complicating yours sisters life with this. You need to be paid via her account also, and maybe she needs to pay taxes. Was that necessary ?
