I waited until the money cleared and I was paid... So it's not a mistake. I sold image BDDJ0P on Alamy for $365! Is this what people used to get for an image sale?? I could get used to that. That's 1000 times what I get on Shutterstock!

Yes that is what we used to get on RM sales.

That's a good sale these days - especially on a RF image.

Top work! Love hearing that those sorts of sales are still around.

Beats my $1 novel use sale the other day... ;)

I have a question regarding RM sales:

Is OK to upload on RM sites files that are in sale on RF agencies?

No. You cannot upload an image as both RM and RF. it's either or.

It worth creating images only for RM???

You got $300+ sales on Alamy for images submitted as RF?

They are very often in the $20-$200 range, sometimes in the $1 range and sometimes in the $300+ range.  Here's a collection of my higher RF sales on Alamy over the years.. one reaching $700.

Yes, most of my sales are the 40% variety. Also, it's nice to get those big sales, but my annual income at SS is 10 times that of Alamy.

Like everything else, it depends. If you put up sliced vegetables isolated on white, you'll get 50 cents. This isn't some magic stupid pool where buyers don't know they can get the same shots for a few dollars on Micro.

Yes there are RF sales for hundreds on Alamy, but it's not the same thing they can get cheap on Micro. There is usually a difference.

Royalty-free    52 MB
7500 x 2406 pixels
4 MB compressed
   $ 200.00
($120)

30 MB
6750 x 1530 pixels
1 MB compressed
   $ 40.00
($24)

These are location shots, travel. I don't even get novel use because I don't have anything that's up on Micro, on Alamy. (except one, which has never sold on Alamy)

Main point, different market for the most part. Different prices, for material that's not commonly found on MicroStock sites. There may be an exception, but in general that's why people who have their same collections up on Alamy and Micro, get micro price downloads on Alamy.

Correct in the last two months I have had $292 X 2 and one for $370
These are all only on as RF and are the same images I have on the micros

Not really. I have had many RF sales at Gettys for over 500 dollars. Unless there are rights, worldrights, this and that involved, I dont think there is too much basic price differance between RM and RF.

An example is a shot I took of a V8, engine, just showing the cylinders in action, client bought it last year with all the rights, etc, something like a 6 months exclusive if I remember correctly, 3K. few months ago exactly the same shot sold as RM without rights for 450 dollars.

Thats right! originally we did it as a TV commercial with the Castrol lubricant moving along the cylinders, pipes, etc. Just 30 seconds but over 100 litre of castrol went through. :)
