I have a portfolio of approximately 9,000 images on FT and Shutter. I sell between 200 and 300 images per day on SH while the average of my sales on FT is 40 images per day ... Is it the same for you? ... What can explain such a difference ? ... I read on the forum that FT is in expansion since its acquisition by Adobe, personally I see no difference. :(

Look at the graph to the right, that pretty much sums it up. Exactly why there's less sales there.... that's a bit harder. I guess it's the same reason you'd sell more of your fancy tech device if it was in Best Buy rather than Dave''s Grotto of Electronica.

A crude example, but it'll have to do.

I only have a fraction of your portfolio size but for me FT sales are steady while SS differs very much from month to month.
This month I have more than twice $ on FT than on SS but not because FT is better, just because SS performs very badly for me this month, mostly just subs. Sales/day don't make me happy but $$/day do.

Sorry, I can't agree with this. Not so long ago AL was pushed artificially at the top of the list. We found out later, here in some thread that people were encouraged on their forum to vote here.

I have a portfolio of about 300 images on SS and FT. The medium sales rate is about 0.5 - 0.8 images per day on FT and 3-4 images per day on SS. So my selling numbers are congruent with yours. In some case (about every two months for me) on SS is possible to sell an image with a very high revenue (50-80$). After the acquisition by Adobe it doesn't seem to me there are more sale on FT; I do not see any difference.

I think a lot depends on images and the style of imagery.  My results are not the same as the list order.

Each agency might have a different set of clients.  Some might like bright happy images, others darker images with richer color.  I now that some sites reject some of my images for not artistic or commercial appeal-- bit those mages do sell well with other agencies.  Some of my images get ejected for cropping but in an artistic way the crop does work and sells well on other sites.  Perhaps that sight has clients looking for something more cutting edge that the typical formula?

In any case, my sales volume do not follow the order of this list.  Some Low earners are much better for me than middle tier as well.

I've always felt Fotolia was more in tune with European tastes and DT (when they actually sold much) appealed to slightly more arty types with SS more American with its bright shiny happy people. But I just upload everything and hope for the best  :o

On average, FT is about 75% of SS when comparing downloads.

This may be inappropriate to ask, but what kind of daily income do you get from 200-300 daily sales at SS?   I know 9000 is alot of images, but if you make a living with your port, that's a great motivator for the rest of us. thanks

Know a guy with 10,000 images and he makes $800 a month. 200-300 daily would be significantly more assuming similar od and sod composition. I'd guess 3500-4000 a month

Yes, with 27k images I have the same ratio between these two agencies.

You might not agree with it, but the guy wants to know why he sells more on SS than he does on FT, and the plain and simple answer is... because he does. Some don't, but he does. The only reason I pointed out the chart was because his results correlate with the results of the poll. Mine don't, others might not, but his do.
