I am a gold member and had several images on first pages searching with words like spring, summer, nature.
Last week out of the blue my sales dropped about 40% and weekly rank from 180 to 350. Also my most popular images are far in the search engine.

Well, dont know whats happend here but FT, must do something about their search, at the moment only old files are selling, you cant even see a new file on first 5 pages.

Funny, I see just the opposite. New files are selling and are even in the first pages in the search engine and old well selling files dropped.

Don't know what is happening but I hope it stays this way.  I have had the best couple of days for ages.   Are any other of the  Emeralds that took a huge drop in sales seeing better sales over the last couple of days?

Congrats.  Wish I could say the same.  If anything, my sales are even worse.

Shame I was hoping that you were seeing the same as me which could have meant that the search had been skewed a bit more in our favour.  Probably just a run of good luck for me then.

Out of curiosity, have you all been uploading much to Fotolia the last several months?  I haven't uploaded much anywhere in the last few months, due to some major home and office remodeling.  If Fotolia are skewed toward newer images now, maybe this is my hiatus coming back to bite me.  

Other sites remain steady though, even with the break in uploading.

I haven't uploaded much at all this year so it isn't because of new images but like yourself the drop in earnings at FT came well before that.

I have, about 4500 images in the past 6 months. So who knows where the balance is at the moment >:s

Sales very disappointing for me too nowadays and I am just short of Emerald. This month I am projected to be back to 2008 numbers. FT grew strongly for me until March 2010 and, seasonal variations apart, have been in steady decline ever since. On my chart FT's decline is fairly closely mirrored by SS's rise so maybe customers have been moving over.

It seems to me that both FT and SS are plagued by keyword spammers (usually from contributors who upload in huge volumes but sell very little) however SS's keyword weighting system in the search results ensures that most of the dross is quickly demoted out of sight. If I were a buyer I would find FT's search results, full of irrelevant spammed images, extremely irritating.

On my best month ever (without ELs) I earnt 5x what I earn each month now!!!!!

What's an EL? I used to get lots there but they've become like hen's teeth at FT.
