The FAQ on Fotolia website state : "To convert credits into cash go to the My Credits page of your Fotolia account and click on the Convert credits into cash button."

Fine - but there is no such button there. There are two "clickable" options there - "Buy credits" and "Transfer credits", none of which serves the purpose.

So, the question is: how do I request a payment ? Is this information (FAQ) incorrect ? Do I need to actually click the "My Conversions" tab and select "Convertible credits" ?

I'd too appreciate it if someone could spell it out.  I tried to request a payment last week and ended up confused.    :P

you can cash out minimum 50 credits (new rule, they didnt update faq).

go to my credits - convert credits.


for newbies: it has to pass 45days since first sale, in order to make a payment (anti money laundry policy).

Thanks, Chode - but there is NO "Convert credits" at "My credits".  So, the question still stands...

Oh that's just not right.  Before you could cash out anytime and the credits didn't expire. Now you can't cash out anytime and your credits expire in a year.  Hmm, maybe I will pull my entire port and request payment before the screw me out of more money.

wrong. only buyers credits can expire. photographers (photo sale) credits dont expire (even if it says so, they dont).

my advise to you: pull your entire portfolio, so I have less competition, hahaha.

ps.

name another agency where you can cache out when ever you want? every (big) agency have minimum limit (50 or 100).

I have no problem requesting a payout, but lately there is some considerable lag in actually getting the money. 

So far I have a payment pending from 04/01.  Over 10 days is way too long to wait for a payout IMHO. 

Anyone experiencing similar?  Wonder what the holdup is....?

And before anyone asks, they DO have my ID so that is not the issue.

I requested payment today, so we will wait and see how long it takes.  They definitely have my ID.

Just got my backlogged payouts today.  Chad was nice enough to check into it for me. 

Would I have gotten paid today without his help?   I honestly don't know, and that is troubling.  I am sure Chad has enough to keep him busy without having to repeatedly intervene in accounting issues....

At the very beginning, although you could cash out any time (a) there was a fee for all cashouts, even if they were over $100 and (b) credits were not payable for a few days (I think it varied depending on how the buyer paid).

A number of us argued that it wasn't right to charge fees for cashouts and suggested that they have some minimum cashout where no fee applied. Some flavor of that was adopted so that if you cashed out over $50 you didn't pay a fee, which seemed fair.

Fairly recently the waiting period for credits to become validated (green) went away.

So, all in all, the Fotolia system for cashing out has become more fair over time rather than less. I do think they should have communicated this change to contributors (like just about every other change they didn't, and perhaps thought we wouldn't notice, which is just silly), but the change itself is perfectly reasonable.

No other agency lets you cash out at will. I think that BigStock has the lowest threshhold at $30. Why pull your portfolio? Fotolia pays ... eventually.

i have never had a problem getting payout.  they have stated many times that they do payouts in a cycle (an unknown cycle mind you) and if you happen to request payout right after they just finished a group of payouts, you may have to wait 10-14 (or more maybe??) days for the next payout.
I wouldn't get too anxious unless it was 20+ days after I requested payout.
