Was just doing the keywords on a batch submitted to FT - after finishing no 5 I noticed 1 - 4 were already approved

I was able to get 5 videos rejected in real time- just as I was keywording and submitting they were rejecting them. ( that was the last time I bothered submitting videos to fotolia.)

I deleted my videos from FT a month ago and will not be uploading again. Their comission is... *censored*

I've always thought (pure speculation) that they have some kind of automated technical review and basically a file just needs to get passed that to get online with them. Because at times they review incredibly fast, something has to be automated there. Maybe a lot of images or videos which are sent are never seen by the human eye.

Ialso suspect that there is some automated process there - in few hours all reviewed except those i put for exlusive - takes one day. But trend for me is all rejected in last week.  ???

doing the keywords

By the way, you shouldn't. Use IPTC instead, and your files will be ready for every other site, present and future.

I have been doing this recently but only seems to work on DT.  Only title comes through on FT and nothing on SS  :-\

depending on which program you are using to tag your pictures, fields have slighly different names; and different sites import different fields, so you may have to repeat title in more than one field

title may be called caption, title, caption writer, headline .... and so on

As a test, I would suggest to tag a test picture by filling ALL fields with the field name (e.g. type "caption" in caption field, "keywords" in keywords field, ...) and upload everywhere to see which field is imported where

once you learn how to use IPTC, it will save you a lot of time, especially when you upload many pictures

Very good suggestion but nothing further came through - I use PSP rather than PS and the tagging is useless, stuck with the IPTC available in Windows.  It's not a major hassle as I ain't exactly prolific and only upload to DT, FT, SS and very rarely to IS if I think something has a chance  ::)  Easy enough to copy & paste from the image info where needed.

Irfanview is free, and very easy to use.

^ indeed, Irfanview is good for tagging.

"IPTC available in Windows" may be the problem: if you mean setting file properties with right button, it's not actually "IPTC" but another tagging system, largely ignored by stock sites. I did the same error in the beginning, luckily I found out before tagging too many pictures.

I too use irfanview for keywording and the only site I have a problem with reading it is Alamy.  Everywhere else is fine.

I also once tried to use Windows to do some stuff but for some reason it wouldn't read any of it on any of the sites I'm on so I haven't used it since.

And I agree pre-doing all the keywording and descriptions will save you tons of time during your uploads.

*edited to add*

I too thing something is automated there especially with vector files.  Photos (for me) take a day or so to be reviewed.  I also had the same thing happen as the OP.  Was uploading bout 10 vectors and was working on the categories and they were reviewed before I could get the rest of them finished.  Really quick it is.  Course I had a vector rejected for being OOF which I think is funny.

Ah interesting - I just assumed folks were using PS.  Must have a look at that.

I don't know about automated but, if 4 are approved in the time it takes to paste keywords on 1, it can't be a very detailed review.

Irfan view, doesn't copy the keywords to Graphic Leftovers either.

I have problems with Infranview and Istock. But I think its Istocks fault, sometimes it works maybe 1/10.
Most other sites I submit to are fine.
