After the last week or so, fotolia has come to be very close to the #4 producing site for me. Which means only dreamstime, shutterstock and istock are better.  That seems pretty promising for a site that just opened.  I think they have some really good ideas which are going to make them grow.  Any thoughts?

Yeah it has been picking up for me to, I wonder if they have been advertising, or just more people finding them and downloading since they are getting a better amount of pictures.

Fotolia seems to have been quite steady for me the last couple weeks.  I think they are doing a good job of getting buyers.

Glad to hear you're having success there.  I've got about 115 shots accepted but 7 sales.  I've had then online from mid-Jan.  How long have you been collecting revenue?  I'm, by far, more successful at shutterstock with Feb, 2006 my highest grossing month.  I've reached 190 in uploads accepted.  (I'm going for a clean sweep -- a sale every day in Feb -- only two more to go)  ;D

hey there... congrats on the clean sweep.. it is exciting to see things progressing.

I have had my images on fotolia just since january. I had perhaps 50 there before that, but very few sales didn't promot spending time to upload.  When the Jan. upload reward program came around, I spent a few full days uploading all my images and now have 1200 or so there.  I agree that shutterstock is BY FAR better than fotolia, but I find it encouraging that there is a few sales at fotolia, and their upload reward programs make it work the time uploading my images (even if they only get a few sales)

You both are amazing... I will someday have 1200 shots (2006 goal is 300).  I smile when I sell a new addition right away.  I enjoy instant gradification.  My February totals are in and I sold at least one a day.  Next milestone is $100 in one month.

Well one a day is an achievement.  I find it very encouraging to set goals for myself.  It becomes very exciting to reach and overcome your goals, and look back 6 months later, and see how small they were :)

It looks like Philip Date and Andre are well over 1000 sales at fotolia. Pretty impressive.  I am still striving for my first 100 :(

I had my 3000 sale yesterday so just 2000 more to go to get Gold status. Recently the sales have been great and I am sure they are picking up for everyone else. This month Fotolia is second in terms of earnings after istockphoto. Andresr must have more downloads/sales than me as I am only Rank 2!

I've had 7. :-).

But then I've only got 50 images on there, and just started submitting there the 2nd of this month.

That makes it better than 123rf was for me by a huge margin....  I had a sum total of $6 earnings there for 5 and half months before I removed my images..

My overall ranking is 2159, my 7day ranking is 524...  Bit of a long way to go to catch up to you phildate! :-)

it is good we have people like you, phildate, for the rest of us to try be better than :)  It gives me ambition to keep at it anyhow.

Yeah I agree fotolia is really picking up, pretty impressive for such a new company.  I am however still down at just over 400 downloads.  I gotta get my but in gear if i want to be in the top 10. (am at 67 now all time)

I hope that Fotolia keeps picking up.  Hopefully they will become very popular - they seem to have a good layout and format, unlike 123RF and some others.  And I like the ranking thing too.

Do you find that old photos seem to be selling just like the newer ones uploaded?

I do find there site quite slow though.

I dont have enough sales to pick up a pattern yet.  I note that they have justed added the option to buyers to sort by sales.  Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing but will basically enable the buyer to avoid looking at all your photos that haven't had DL yet and instead look at ones that have been used by others (ie tried and tested - as opposed to looking through varing quality of those with no DL).

on the other hand.

If a designer wants an image that hasn't been 'around the block' yet, he can sort by downloads (least downloaded) and get a new fresh image.

I see that point but given these are not normally global campaigns, it is unlikely that you will see the same picture again.

Just look at the most downloaded at any of the sites and you will see they continue to get hits.

Fotolia is very slow to me, not only few sales - only 4 so far, but I have a small portfolio - but also very few views.
