I looked around the site and couldn't find anything on how much video downloads would cost the buyer and if our level percentage goes for that.  I surely hope they don't sell for sub prices either.

We need more information hopefully someone will post.

It says on there that videos can't be purchased by subscription which still begs the question how will the buyers purchase them by credits?

They're very late to the party.  I uploaded some to 123RF but no sales yet.  If they can't attract buyers, there's not much point in uploading.  It takes such a long  time to upload video clips, I'm quite happy if all the buyers use Pond5.  They pay 50% commission, don't have subscriptions, let me set my own prices and seem to have the most buyers.

Just another agency jumping on the same old bandwagon. Offer something unique to the market DP. All you're going to do is drive down the share for contributors. 

A year ago I saw you as a "new" thinker. A well thought out agency that would grow through innovation and originality. I don't see it anymore. Just the same old, same old.

Depositphotos Marius, what about the subscription commissions? How much would one get from a subscription sale?

So we should know about all the details of our partnership with Depositphotos. Why don't you post that information?

Details about that are highly appreciated. Otherwise this doesn't show a lot of transparency.

 

With these commissions rate I don't think  you will have many people uploading
A HD1080 should be at least 50 dollars and you are very far from it!

If you are referring to the screenshot above - these are the contributor's paid out royalties and not the sale prices of the clip. Just to avoid any confusion.

I constantly get lower commissions at IS compared to these here from DP but IS constantly sells my stuff so I don't care.

I'm really worried about the non-existent royalty commission information for subscription sales...

They dont accept 50FPS which is the standard my camcorder produces and as such im not going to redit my files for those low comissions. All the other sites are happy with 50FPS.

Why joining in these conditions ?? better to support Pond5 and SS and others like ClipCanvas and Revostock
Many  did not join Fotolia footage for similar reasons

I agree. $11 commission for an HD 1080 is about 1/2 what I get from all the other sites, including sub sales at SS.

This is just leading to the devaluation of our work and therefore im not going to contribute. I notice that DP staff have gone quiet.

Why dont they try setting the prices higher.

I agree 100% Contributing to an "also-ran" agency that thinks like a bottom-dweller:
"Hey, let's get into video like the big players are doing but we'll charge a lot less and
burn the contributors" provides absolutely no incentive for me to join into DP's game
plan. Can you imagine charging more for a video clip? And actually attracting the
best of the best to your agency? :oGoes back to my original comment. DP, like
so many other agencies, is a reactionary agency. "Let's do what everybody else is
doing and we'll distinquish ourselves from the others by dropping the prices". Very
disappointing.
