Canon PowerShot A95 (late 2004)
Canon EOS 400D (late 2007)

Haven't taken nearly as many photos with the 400D as I have with the A95 yet.

If I may join in...

I took my first picture at the tender age of 7 with a Kodak Instamatic 126  :D Later, on my 14th birthday, my father bought me a Zenit(h) TTL which I used for many years.

I currently use an EOS 1D MkII and love it!

Hey Leaf, your photographic history reminds me mine :

I was given my first camera as a gift from my Grandfather when I was a young teenager in early 80's. A subminiature Minolta 16PS, with its flash clamp to mount cube flashes !

Then my first SLR, a Canon 1000F, in early 90's :

Then my first digital camera, an Epson PhotoPC 850Z :

Then my first DSLR, a Canon 350D :

Finally, my current DSLR, a Canon 40D :

to which I may add a FF (probably 5DII) in the near future.

First cam was Zeiss Ikon Contessa rangefinder, now a collector's item. Still have it here somewhere. Was followed by a Yashica TLR (120 roll film). Both were bought used from an old timer photog.  First 35mm was Nikon FM followed by Nikon FE2 and then Nikon F4s.

Very first digital was an Olympus point & shoot in 1997 I think.

Now have Nikon D200 and Nikon D3, and all of my old lenses work on them ;-)

For fun an portability have Panasonic DMC LX2 and Panny FZ50. The pannys are noisy, but love the LX2 for quick travel shots because of the 16:9 format achieved with 28mm equivalent lens.

Good idea!

I had first a Nikon F75

Then a Nikon D70s

A D200

Actually I have a D300

And I'm still waiting for this high megapixels Nikon to come out and it's driving me crazy
Only thing I ask for is a 16mpx or more full frame with hopefully the same low noise performance than the actual D3 sensor.

Maybe D800 D3x
Call it whatever you want, but it's so long to wait for

My parents owned several Polaroids/instamatics while I was growing up. I didn't get my first camera until I was in my early teens. I wanted a SLR but my mom thought I should learn a little more with a p&s. I was crushed. (and the camera was a piece of sh*t). I think the sales person conned her a bit because it wasn't cheap either.

Richoh (??? piece of crap P&S)
Canon AE1 (love that camera and still have it)
Kodak DC210 (2.1 mp woowee!!)
Olympus C4040 (Excellent camera with a super sharp f1.8 lens)
Nikon D80

Next will be a full frame...

My first camera was made of plastic, viewfinder camera Ami 66 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ami_66). Next one was my first SLR - Praktica MTL 5B (http://www.praktica-collector.de/214_Praktica_MTL5B.htm). I wish I still have them cause they are rare collector items now ;-) After that all Canon EOS cameras: 500N, 3, 10D, 20D ;-)

My first SLR was a Canon AV-1, purchased 26 years ago.  Future?  I don't have the slighest idea.  I still haven't mastered everything my Canon 400D has to offer me.

In digital, my first camera was Fuji Finepix 2650Zoom, 2MPix.  Excellent optics, but lacking any manual setting.

Regards,
Adelaide

After 2  or 3 Kodak Instamatic (135 and 110 if I remember) I bought my first SLR back in 1974, age 14.  It was a Praktica L just like the one pictured up here!

In 1985, I bought a Canon EOS 650, one of the first model of the new (at that time) EOS series... And it is still my film camera!

Then I jumped in the Digital era 3 or 4 years ago with a Canon Rebel XT, and last year with my Canon 40D.

Will probably trade it next spring for the 5D MKII...

Funny thread by the way, I really enjoy it!

Claude

First was an Argus that shot 120 cassettes. That was in the early 1960's.  When my father saw that I was serious about it, he gave me one of his old 35mm cams that he had purchased in the 50's, I believe.   A Futura Synchro Compur. I put a lot of miles on that thing.  First cam I purchased myself was a Pentax Spotmatic in 1969... In the 70's I switched to a Canon ftbn and have been a Canon guy ever since.  For playing in the dirt and water, I had a couple instamatic cams. Didn't want to ruin my Pentax or Canon. When the digital thing started, I did buy myself a Sony Mavica to play with. When I decided I wanted to make the move from mostly film to mostly digital,  I got my Canon Rebel.  I still have all of them and still used the two older film 35's and the Mavica once in awhile. The Rebel has been my workhorse for some time and still serves me well.
Now,  I'm waiting for my Canon 5D Mark II ... and I'm pretty excited about it. 8)=tom

My first was a Pentax MG that my father gave me when I was around 15. Five years later it was a step backwards to Pentax ME Super just because it had more control than the MG. First AF cam was a Pentax MZ-50 (died). Now using my first digital an *ist DS. Saving to buy my first NEW cam a K20 although I wonder if it will stand up as well as my MG and ME more than 30 years old and still as reliable as ever!
